I like spam.  We still have it every month or two.  Mostly fried for sandwiches, but it is very versatile...spam and cheese omelets.  Hmmm...good!
It might be great, but idk...the name always scared me to death.
In the total abscence of any news, how about this pipedream. I wouldn't trade KP (and assets) for Simmons as we really couldn't improve afterwards. But can we combine something using everything not named Luka and KP? Philly needs a PG and 3-D players, so how about this:

SA: Powell, M.Brown, Brunson, 3 SRP
Phi: White, DFS, Kleber, 2025 and 2027 FRP
Dal: Simmons, Eubanks, Joe (or any other min guys from SA and Phi)

Depth:
Luka, Burke, Terry
THJ, Brown
Bullock, Green
Simmons, /
KP, WCS, Eubanks, Bobi

I think something like that would give us a true contender status. Top 5 would be great, bench weak. Sign a couple of vet min guys and hunt bought out guys at TDL.

It's not great. It's bad. Sometimes it takes a few years to realize you were deceived as a child!

In other words, the Wolves will not trade for Ben Simmons.

If they're the only ones at the table and Simmons refuses to report I can see Philly taking a pu-pu platter of D'angleo russell and Malik Beasley with unprotected firsts.

Unprotected Wolves picks sounds good. But the Wolves "prefer" to not include Russel.

I can see why Morey is struggling. I think, he was never really looking for 4 picks and a player. He was just trying to avoid everybody to know, he can´t get a serious offer for Ben Simmons.

Can the Wolves even trade this years first round pick?  Last years pick went to GS, so I believe they will need to wait for a year.

Philly is in win now mode.    They need to be.   I expect Morey calls Simmons bluff and he is not traded before the start of the season.  There doesn't appear to be any strong trade offers that keeps Philly as one of the title favorites.   That is what Philly need as you have no idea if Embid has 12 years of elite play due to some injury concerns.

Morey needs some leverage.   The potential roadblocks are if Clutch really holds him out (he has 4 years left on his contract, so I have trouble thinking they will do this) or if Simmons play stinks to start the season.  The Philly crowd will be rough on him either way, but will be ruthless if he plays like playoff Simmons.

Morey gets some leverage if Simmons plays ok, and a team like Washington gets off to a slow start.   Or if Sacramento tanks quickly to start the season.  Or if the Bulls signings do not make them a top 5-6 team early in the season.   Or if Toronto decides to make more changes.   Or if Dame situation blows up.   Etc.   Morey is counting on one of these and who knows what else happens 15-20 games into the season.   Right now, most teams have positive thoughts of their offseasons....reality will hit soon for some.  I think this will be the most likely trade timeline for Simmons.

I can see some weird three-team-trade, where one team does some real stupid s***. I hope, it's not us.

Good post and I agree in principle. I can actually see someone get desperate even quicker than 15-20 games into season.

Yes, Minnesota can trade (probably you mean) next year FRP. THe restriction is lifted immediately after draft.
I would certainly consider Lamb in our TE, but was thinking more in line of Indy paying us a SRP or so. Perhaps if they take Burke

Why would they?  Sixers are in a weak negotiating position.  Half that contract is owed Oct 1.  Deadlines make deals and their asking price will tank.

Here is the reality of Ben Simmons.  He just isn't that good.
Good luck finding a team to match that salary.  And a team willing to pay him that salary to boot.
He will not opt out either at that price...
lol so to get this straight,

1. Wall and Rockets want to find a better situation
2.  No buyout
3.  Big injury history
4.  Need to match 44 million
5.  Need to pay 90 million total
6.  Doing this right before the start of the season

That franchise is so, so poorly run.

So with the lack of any other news lets play with this a bit. Mavs have sort of a silly way to do it. They would need to send out a bit over 35 mil. I don't think it makes any sense to trade KP. So the alternative could be Powell and SnT Reddick for remaining salary. Houston saves money, Dallas gets a secondary playmaker for basically nothing and Reddick a big payday. I would consider doing it. Its Cubans money anyway Smile
