All the dynamics of how we got here, and whether Wood ever really had potential to be a long-term help, who knows. But Mavs have apparently given up on Wood, and turned the page.

I think they wanted him to be something he wasn't. Whether that "something else" is what he needs to become, to be of real value to a good team, is unknown. Whether he was willing, that's also unknown. We'll see what happens at his next stop.

just so annoying how evident the coming outcome was as soon as Kidd named McGee the starter before even a single practice
I wrote him off as gone and that being a wasted pick as soon as that happened

Can’t wait for him to drop 35 on Dwight’s head next year.
He is pretty bad at team defense, but I think he'll be a useful player for someone.  It's hard to know whether Kidd was incapable of using him effectively or if he just chose not to because of some pettiness, but I feel like a better coach would have had the flexibility to exploit his obvious offensive talents and at least made him a trade-able asset instead of a waste of a pick that's going to sign a one year deal for someones exception just to GTFO of here.

...for yet another team that will fall short of the .500 mark.

How's Dorian doing?

Considering the demand for his services around the league, I'd say pretty good.  How's Christian doing?
what if we packaged wood with spencer in the kyrie deal instead of dorian? was it that the nets had little interest in wood or that we thought wood to be more valuable at that time and refused to sell him?

Dorian was way more valuable. Proven winner on a reasonable long-term deal

Making fat stacks in 12 minutes of work

Wood would be gone had he drawn any interest at the trade deadline.

Jason Midd: “Can’t happen if we don’t make the playoffs”
Wood has looked a lot happier on the bench recently, even when he doesn't play much. I think he sees the light at the end of the tunnel of finally being able to leave this team and coach. Must be nice knowing it will all be over soon!

Jason Kidd is the only guy in the world who doesn't think 69 is a nice number

Mavs were dreadful to open the season.  Maybe it is a coincidence but they turned things around once Powell started getting minutes.

Wood 69% wins as starter vs Dwight 10-12 as a starter before Wood got a shot

Mavs got to 52 wins last season with Powell.  Mavs aren't getting to 40 this season with Wood.
