Last two games show the real impact of Wood, don't look to much into ppg etc. With Brunson not here, Wood takes the load away from Luka. Him and SD. This is necessary for any team to have multiple players able to take the load and score.
Imagine not realizing that the only path forward for this team is to get Wood cooking with Luka in the starting lineup.

After the Brunson disaster, it's the only path forward. CW must become a star player for this team, and Kidd must enable him to do that.
25 minutes. Coaching criminality.

He fouled out, my guy. They'd have had to change the rule book to leave him out there longer tonight.
Wood just gives the Mavs a different look in offense.

I don't care if he fouls out every game as long as he gets to play and he is given opportunities to score, he is going to help.

Good job by Kidd for keeping him in there (no sarcasm here).

Oh shit lol. Valid reason by Kidd this time. I didn’t get a chance to finish most of the game. Had family over. Just start the man.
Fouled out with 4 minutes left? Was Kidd actually going to play him until the end?

I'm giving Kidd the benefit of the doubt on this on.

He would at least make situational subs and not take him out entirely.
Wood's impact can't be ignored specially after those 2 loses.

It sure seemed to be heading that way.

We are past the 10 game mark.
After Brunson, the game plan for Wood seems to be: Play him just enough to showcase him to other teams, see what he can do for us and see how he fits. They will offer him the extension close to the trade DL and offer the starting spot. If he declines (probably because he's pissed at the org for not playing him and hurting his next contract) they will trade him at the DL.

Also, I'm just making shit up, but we know the Mavs are dysfunctional. Many of you will probably think the plan is genius lmfaoooooo.

actually trading someone for an asset would be a major step forward
we normally just let our best free agents walk for nothing
The issue is that you aren't going to return much, if anything, for Wood.

Agree, there is nothing he's done at this point that would make him anymore valuable than what he was when we traded for him. He'd have to have a great season and probably play just as well in the playoffs for a lot of minds around the league to change on his value, at which point if we aren't trying everything to keep him then we really are a basket case in the front office.

I think he has the type of talent we have wished we could get in FA, but never do. I'm coming around on Kidd calling out Wood being taken more seriously by fans than by Wood or the rest of the team. I think there's a lot more positive reinforcement going on in the background than we are privy to. I'm literally waiting to see the selfish ball hog all about me basketball player everyone keeps barking about, and all I see is a guy who's unselfishness on court is actually growing, to where I'm annoyed to see him make the extra pass, because I want him to shoot more, even though it's probably the right play. I also see more and more effort on defense and less and less glaring mistakes. It's just not the attitude of someone who's remotely disgruntled, especially if they are a problem child, and have literally walked out on a team mid game in the past due to disharmony in the locker room. It's the attitude of someone who's buying in.

I know exactly what a guy who's irritable and moody with an ego looks like, because we had one in KP, and Wood is nothing like him.
Wow so it turns out Christian Wood is him?
