For some reason I always forget J.Dudley was a great 3-point shooter.  Didn't he have that pronounced follow through which stuck in the air which was different from other shooters? Either way, glad he's around.
I have to credit the new and improved pre-season coverage. Nice to have a re-live stream available to watch the scrimmage now.

Maybe the new regime is a little more professional and modern or they simply have more energy to work on all aspects of the franchise than the literally OLD MBT.
It is just a scrimmage with guys not playing extra hard, but in the parts of the practice and scrimmage I saw, you really feel Javale's length when he goes into the lane.   Just feels more imposing.  Powell has such a good connection with Luka and his timing is excellent.   Hopefully, Luka and McGee can develop good chemistry.

Luka made a simple pass to DFS for an open corner three that we have seen hundreds of times, but it just drilled home again that if you have Luka and good shooters, there is not much defenses can do.    It was a simple pass, but one that not very many guys can make consistently.

Seeing Wood drive is nice to see.  It is something we have not had and something I wished KP could do more of.  We will see if this is something he can do consistently, but having a big who can spread the floor and kill slower players will be nice.

I am so glad the Mavs took a gamble on Hardy.  I have no idea if he works out or if he is here two years from now.  But he is the type of guy the Mavs need to invest in.   He will need to be coached hard and learn how to play different, but there is something there, I think.

Josh has had some eye opening dunks, but I don't think he dunks that ball last year.   Not only does his form look better on his shot, but I love that aggression attacking the rim.   When you have put in the work and have confidence, it can do wonders.

Josh Green setting you all up for such a mighty, mighty fall.

I don't know if people here are expecting Bane or Sadiq like performances/numbers from Josh Green.

If Josh Green ups his 3FG percentage a bit more, is able to drive and distribute, while retaining his plus defense, then even if he doesn't average 12 per game, that would be fine by me.

A mighty fall would mean, Josh is struggling to get minutes over Hardy, Dorsey and Frankie. This will not happen, unless all 3 prove to be better than most expect them to be, in which case -- the Mavs would be the winner.

Overtaking THJ as the 3rd best guard at near season's end seems reasonable. At least for me it is. But one thing is for sure, and Josh Green knows this. This is a make or break season for him. It's time for him to be aggressive lest he ends up out of the NBA.

There will be no "mighty fall".

The GREEN LIGHT is ON.

Why do you feel so confident he isn't going to measure up?

Edited above for how I see it.

Because not measuring up is what he has consistently done throughout his professional career.

The good news for the Josh hype train is that I'm often wrong.  Now back to my schtick.

Josh pumpkin watch starts...now.

KP has great mobility for a player his size.

But while KP is awkward at the perimeter, Wood instead moves like a wing.

If Wood keeps it together, the Luka-Wood and Spencer-Wood PNRs, PNPs would be sick.
Wood did everything offensively he has been doing in that game. It’s not the pnr/pnp game I love about him. It’s the pass it to him and he finds his way to the rim. I like it a lot and it’s what we haven’t had even in JB. When JB got the ball passed to him, he would do the JJB pound the ball into the ground and then go. Wood doesn’t hesitate whatsoever.

We'll see. He's still a ? mark to me. It's training camp vs his teammates, not opposing competitors. He has a lot on the line if he wants to get the bag at season's end. Should be enough motivation right there.

Man I hate watching him walk like he's 90 years old. It just makes me wish he'd retired a couple years earlier for his own sake.
