Yeah, that was a cool story.

SUPER aggressive play from Green there. He does look different.
well Luka doesn't know our new teammates names yet.

What was Kidd saying about Wood and the 5???

Kidd said he wants to play the 5 idk what specifically he is referring to in terms of the practice.
If I'm being honest, Wood hasn't looked great so far.

Green, great. Hardaway, great. Dinwiddie, great.

Luka coasting. Wood hasn't really popped.

Hardy doesn't look bad, either.
Yeah the lack of chemistry Wood has compared to everyone who has been here is showing.
Brendan Haywood on Wood wanting to play the 5:

"I think that's the best move for him on this team. It won't be so hard on him defensively, and at the same time he'll give Luka way more space."
Josh Green has made at least 5 3s in a row since I started watching.
Nice pick and pop for Wood there.

Green just plays at a faster tempo than anyone else on this floor. I wonder if that will hold up during games.

Then he airballs one lol
It is obviously a real small sample size, but Frank just looks to be uncomfortable running an offense.   Much better as an off ball 3 and D guy....if he can shoot a higher percentage imo.

This is the story of his career

Yes, everyone agrees he is a great defender. Every team wants great defenders. It's easy to see why he was available for the Mavs at the bottom of the bargain bin.

He's the perfect guy to play with Luka in the backcourt, theoretically. Point of attack defender who, in time, can develop a reliable catch and shoot game and might even be able to attack closeouts effectively. But as a PG, even as a backup? I'm not a believer.

Pump fake threw him off on that one.

I'll say this: I'm really glad Dinwiddie is here. He seems like a sharp dude and a smart player.
That was fun.  Really impressed with the communication of the coaching staff.

I think you underestimate the minutes to be played by Luka-SD. They played a combined 64 last season (35 1/2, 28 1/2), and I would look for about the same this time. Perhaps even a tick higher, with Brunson no longer here needing minutes.

So that would make 16-18 minutes of overlap inevitable, which in a simple iteration would have them playing together the first 4-5 minutes and the last 4-5 minutes of each half. Obviously there are many other ways to script that, but that keeps one of them on the floor at all times, and still offers about 1/3 of the game with 2 of them.
This is the best Mavs content I've watched in a long time.

NBATV produced it looked like. They probably saw the garbage that Cuban calls a scrimmage streaming every year and decided to finally intervene. Big Grin

Haywood is a regular on there. He´s reallly good with the added bonus of a few stories from the Mavs good old times.

Also damn Josh Green. Not only did he make a lot of shots, he also lost his sad Hooch face. Hopefully it translates into real games. Hardy also looked pretty good.
McGee seems on pace to build up that 15MPG stamina.

I can see why Wood has been on a dozen teams. Maybe he just had a bad day, but he sure gives you a high maintenance vibe.
Tyson Chandler looking fit.  Give him the 15th spot.  King of Gods and God King would lock the NBA down.
Just one scrimmage, but he looked confident.   He will never be a ball dominant player, but he needs to be a threat when given the chance.  Teams are going to defend him that he is going to pass.   The more threat he is to score, it will open up his passing even more.
