Stay patient and see if a trade materializes later in the summer?  Split up the MLE?

Unless Bullock is moved, I'm not a fan of signing Brown.

Given the DNPs in the playoffs for G.Williams and having KP in house without losing R.Williams or Horford, I think he's gone from BOS.  I'm not sold on him, however, as a starter on a championship team.  IMO his defense is more gritty looking than effective.  His 3pt shooting is very effective tho.

Unless PJ can be signed and not matched with the MLE, I don't see anyone out there in FA that gets us what we need: a flex F/C (Z.Collins, PJ S&T, I.Stewart) and a flex SF/PF (Tate, Eason, Hunter).  IMO we need to use J.Green and the 2027 FRP (plus fodder like Bullock, THJ, McGee, Wood S&T, and Powell S&T) for those needed assets.  I was huge on J.Allen until the Lively pick.  We need someone who can start at C now and transition to F when Lively is ready to start.
The roster is nearly set. Outside of Kyrie there will be no major trades or free agent additions. They'll just look for a few guys who can fog a mirror for sub-MLE money to fill the bench.

Please make me edit this post in shame Nico.

Thybulle and PJ Washington would be my top RFA options to offer the MLE to -- or possibly SnT Timmy or Reggie.

Could see him with any of these teams but Mavs in solid position. Indiana may be toughest comp. D can offer most money.

For a guy who has made 15 million for his career, it will be tough to overcome an offer higher than 15 or so, I believe.   Although Houston certainly has issues.  Indiana is well positioned but maybe we can have Luka fill Brown in on Coach Carlisle.  Ha ha.

Indiana is apparently trading Durante to Sacramento for draft consideration. This should give them more room.

See how it went from "Meeting with the Mavericks" to "Meeting with three attractive teams with cap space... and the Mavericks?" I hate Mavs free agency.

Now you surely didn't think the Mavs were the only team he was meeting with?  He's one of the top FA's on the market.
The potential MLE list gets quite said if Mavs don't succeed with Brown. So I wonder if it would make more sense (in case they don't succeed with Brown) to rather look for trade opportunities for someone that is a proven starter but a bit overpaid, than overpaying someone at MLE, who is not a proven starter (guys like Prince, Thybulle,...)

So, who will be our new Reggie Bullock (the one decent MLE signing we've ever had, and look at him now) this time?
You guys love your boys in blue.

I wonder what his FG% would have been if he hadn’t missed those two shots…

Nothing yet.
Kyrie to Mavs

126 mil for 3 years. Good deal for Mavs
https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status...46178?s=20

Free agent Kyrie Irving has agreed to a three-year, $126 million contract to return to the Dallas Mavericks, with a player option in third season,

That’s a solid deal.
Amazing! Much better than I expected.

Kyrie Irving at three years, $126M puts the Mavericks at $13.3M below the tax and $20.4M below the first apron with 11 players.

They could use the $12.4M MLE and $4.5M BAE, but using both would take them over the tax.

If this is with 8% raises per year, Kyrie signed on for $38.81M, $41.91M, $45.26M. Based on CBAmavs' sheets, Dallas can afford that deal with Phoenix for Ayton without giving up McGee. Not that Phoenix is still interested, but
