Happy birthday to a true Mavs legend.

Kleber will help if and when he gets in shape. But their problems don't end there.

The biggest ones start there though.

He's certainly not a savior by any means but this season hopefully has taught a lot of folks how insane crucial Maxi is to this team succeeding defensively.

I agree.  He would certainly be a welcome addition.  If he is the sole big, I think you may have the same problem protecting the rim. Maxi is fantastic with weak side blocks but not great as your lone rim defender imo.  The bigger concern with maxi as your lone big is rebounding.

I would personally like to see Luka, Kyrie, maxi, wood and shooter down the stretch.  I would like to see it a lot to end the season to see if that matchup works.

Totally agree. But you know that decision lies with Kidd who still hasn't figured it out yet.

It just feels like we are going to have a huge hole at big PF no matter what we do.  That is why I am interested to see Maxi and Wood.  It may not work at all.  But it may be our only hope.    We can still spread the floor with 5 out.   Maxi can be in the role as a big wing.  We just need to get inspired play from Wood.
I'm pretty convinced that the Mavs can't catch Memphis, at this point.

Sacramento?  Maybe.  It will have to be one of those "catch fire" kinds of things, where they get an 8- or 10-game winning streak.

Have to give Sacramento credit. They've held on to the 3 spot most of the season, and are the highest scoring, most efficient offense in the NBA. Mike Brown should be the COY frontrunner. The playoffs will answer most questions about them.

A 6 v 3 matchup vs them is probably the Mavs best hope of getting out of the 1st round.

Let the Nuggets/Lakers, Grizz/Clippers, and Suns/Warriors duke it out.  The West could seriously have one of the most exciting set of 1st round series ever.
tbh the queens are the only top 4 team we'd have a realistic chance to beat in the playoffs, and the chance is 50-50 at best. hope we can hold our position and queens hold theirs.

After the Clips grabbed Westbrook I am less afraid of them now.

Might come back to eat these words but Westbrook is that big of a negative in my eyes.
Said it before and I’ll say it again, Westbrook is gonna go the way of John Wall on that team. Hopefully he messes up their record enough before they catch on to him.

I'm not so sure about that. Just because they haven't been to the playoffs since 06, you can't underestimate them and they are well coached. They seem to be connected and as poor as Dallas has been on defense, they can really score. I think you can also drop calling them the Queens.

It wouldn't surprise me to see if they break out everything when everyone is healthy to try to get to a league average on defense.   Not sure it is possible.   Try to limit the mistakes on rotations, contests shots, get back on defense, limit turnovers.  ETC.

It is just going to be tough to get on any kind of win streak with the defense they are playing.

Redditors mentioning someone in his “family” passed away recently.
Mavs back to 6th place in West.  Really need a little 5-game win streak here.
