As long as Shams is saying it I will leave it with a question mark.
Well cuban didn’t make the team any better today but he did like one of my hate tweets
I think BS is far more likely than KI.

I think the chances that Luka and Simmons know each other well and want to play together are just as high, if not much higher, than him having that type of relationship with any of the team USA types.

Some day, when Luka is in his late 20s and everyone agrees he is the best player on the planet, I don’t think it will matter where he’s from. Now, today, I bet the majority of those team USA types respect him, but think of him as a kid.

Simmons is also young, but he’s from Australia.

I really like the fit, and I always have. I don’t expect it to happen, but if it does I will be excited about it.

Now it also makes sense. Goran is upset that Luka betrayed his country by giving up the Bronze medal to Australia to recruit Simmons and Thybulle....only for Cuban to opt for the veteran option of.....Bogut and Dellavdeova. Big Grin Wink

Don't get your hopes up for bargain bin Markie.

That needs to be reposted often until Mark actually does something about it.
Just thinking about Simmons here..
Just imagine if the Mavs can come-up with a line-up of 2 ballhandlers and 3 shooters, and none of them standing below 6'7"

Luka and BS sharing ballhandling duties
DFS and Maxi on the forward spots
and the outside shooting C in Wood.

All very agile for their size.

That's a huge line-up. Even if you take out Maxi and replace him with Din, that's still a huge 5-man group.
Biggest concern with Simmons is that he likes to play fast. Pushes the pace whenever he can. Most of that is because he can't play in a half court setting.

Clashes badly with Luka's preferences right off the bat there.

And you have to ask...How will Simmons take being 2nd banana and never being able to bring up the ball to initiate the offense? (I mean he could, but would we ever want him over Luka doing that? I sure won't).

Still, like everyone said his defense, switchability, and passing makes him an attractive piece.

My 2cents are that we find a way to wrangle in the Wolves and ship Simmons there while the Mavs grab D'Lo.
I'm going to vomit if we trade for Simmons. And the rest of you would join me soon enough.

Can't afford him anyway.

BS is nuts like Kyrie, but maybe in a way that's more likely to be handled.

His back might be another problem.

I don't think that is a problem. Luka will never push the pace, but I don't think he has a problem if others push the ball. This is how the national team plays and I don't know why in Dallas they always look for Luka after the rebound.
