The more I read the more intrigued I am with him.  I am trying to take a step back and make sure my thoughts are fully formed.   He played on a really talented team ( like one of the guys who is returning to Arizona as well) and his production was something that was an added bonus, but not necessary counted on.   I do wonder if he could have a Mikal Bridges jump if he returned to Arizona.   He seems to be a kid who is pretty outgoing and his measurables are outstanding.   He was not someone who was on my radar even two weeks ago, but he is now.   Most of the guys I am focusing on at 26 will not be ready to make an impact next year, and that is fine.  So the key is finding they guy who has a jump or two in his development.  I think several of the guys fit this.   Finding the right one is the challenging part.
Nokola Jovic is a really difficult evaluation.  First, the teams uniforms are awful.  Second, the whole team looks like they are all tall, skinny white dudes.  I swear they could be showing 3 different players highlights and I would not know the difference.   On the positive, I typically have a soft spot for Serbian players.    Most of them appear not be be intimidated on the court.

Agreed. Don't have him on my list at this point because I don't know how to feel about him. Hoping to solidify my opinion on him in the next couple weeks.

If he slips that far, I really want the Mavs to try to move up and get him. Just love him as a prospect.

I don't get having Jaylin Williams over Jake LaRavia. Just not taken by Jaylin as a NBA prospect at all. Great college player in ways....but yeah, don't think it translates.

I am really concerned with Jovic as a defender. I need to see more on that end to make a final eval on him. His offense would be great with Luka, but I am concerned about Luka's teams getting stops down the stretch more than anything else.
I have no idea what to make of Patrick Baldwin Jr.  He was awful as a freshman at Milwaukee.  He went to play for his dad for a terrible team but you expected him to at least put up good stats.  He did not.   And his testing numbers at the combine were poor.    Things may have looked differently if he wound up at Duke instead.

He was a former top 5 recruit at several sites and is a legit 6'9 with a pretty solid build.   He is a guy you have to known for a few years and watched him in high school and make the judgement if he is closer to that high school player or just a guy who dominated against lesser competition.

Not a fan of him as a prospect. The shooting could be special, but the athleticism is TERRIBLE. The only way he makes it in the NBA IMO is as a stretch 5. He has a 9' 2" standing reach, so he has the length for it. But again, his athleticism is really bad. Super slow, poor lateral movement, and no lift.

I wouldn't be opposed to this.
If we can take a step further and ask for Muscala in exchange for Brown or Burke or even DP then I'm all for it.

I would prefer this:
DP+26+ one future 2nd round pick for Muscala+30+34

Get a big for pick 34 and then package THJ + 30 for Holmes or whoever.

Possible scenario:
PF Maxi/Jaylin
C Holmes/Muscala/Boban
To me if you are a big who can rebound, defend and has the footspeed to switch on guards you take him even if his offense is limited to only dunks.

if you are going for a forward or a guard there are a lot of variables that come into play.  Athletic ability without scoring doesn’t cut it. We already have Green. Shooting ability without playing defense doesn’t cut it since a big part of building around Luka has to be similar to what GS has done with Curry which is to help him as much as you can.

Given this and also given that bigs who can switch and defend are not easy to find in FA, I would use the draft pick to target that specific need. I understand that might cause you to miss out on a Poole or a White but so be it.  The only exception to this would be if they absolutely believe the guard or forward they are picking can develop into a very good two way player like Butler did.  However again defense and athleticism have to come first.
