Here you go, @"Scott41theMavs"!

That one line right there is the reason why I have optimism today about all of this. Did Cuban FINALLY realize he can't sell? I know I keep harping on Nico being a true closer. But, I feel that's the biggest thing to come from all of this. Cuban has salivated for years about the Mavs being a "FA destination" and has never been able to get it done. Did he finally admit he needed help and hire a real closer? If so, things could be about to get very interesting.

With Kidd I'm fine, He's here to guide Luka to greatness and lure other players in as a player friendly coach. Luka will be the offensive coach on the floor like Kidd was when he was here. Now they need a defensive mind and some experienced assistants.

You mean “mosdefinaly”.

1) Integrity issues with the three Js got him out of here.
2) Then domestic violence issues got him out of Phoenix
3) Then he comes here and lies/plays -- whatever -- integrity issues, we'll say with the deal and the Knicks
4)  Issues in Brooklyn with integrity trying to sabotage Billy King
5)  Issues in Milwaukee...

It's not that people can't make a mistake and get better, but we are talking about a disturbing pattern, that bothers me a little.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but I won't be surprised if it doesn't crop up some time again.

100%. Though I do think if things go poorly here this might be his last chance as a head coach forever. So I think he'll have all the incentive to do as best as he can.

But yeah if Kidd starts to become weasel-ey again I wouldn't be surprised and hope Cubes fires him quick.
We.need another Champion like Barea in Luka's ear...
At this point let's bring Tyson Chandler in to be the defensive assistant. Let him get into KP's head. It couldn't hurt. Obviously Dirk was brought in to sooth relations on the team and give some confidence to the players. And of course advice Cuban. Since I think Cuban will actually listen to Dirk.
If I was Kidd I'd try and get an international coach like Kokoskov as an assistant.

Would LOVE it if they went in that direction.

I want to see what Barea can do with Brunson. Brunson shows up more in that Clippers series and the Mavs are still playing.

Yeah, frustrating to hear all these stories about how dribble penetration is the new premiere skillset in these playoffs after Brunson laid an egg.   That's his one high level tool in his toolbox.

His lack of speed and size hurts him against playoff teams. I think Brunson can overcome, he's a good player.
Now I am worried Smile

Harrison draws universal praise from everywhere. I really don´t want to get carried away, so...

....you think Dame/Lavine/Beal/Luka/KAT works defensively?

Only would work if you had a Lebron/PG13/Kawhi/Zion/Giannis bench.
I would like to have at least one boring old crusty Xs and Os guy on the staff.

I thought it was brought to our attention that Rick couldnt come up with anything that challenged Luka-ball?

Maybe that was all BS, though.
The only ex Mav I would get excited about being added to the staff is Adrian Griffin, considering he's been an assistant under Nick Nurse the last few years.   Though I think JJB would be a good coach too eventually.  He certainly is open about thirsting for a job in the organization.    Have no idea bout JET.   He had an assistant position at Arizona where his specialty seems to be recruiting.   Does he actually want to be a coach, or is he just bored in retirement and doesn't know what else to do with his time?

Dunno. I was also told that Cuban would never hire anyone but one of his cronies already inside the building to run his front office.

I'm with ya. I don't really see what JET brings to the table that JJB doesn't. I'd rather have one or the other not both. And my preference would be Barea given his international background and general understanding of running a game that JET never really had.

JET would be a fantastic shooting coach. Kind of like Shamgod.

Adrian Griffin would be a FANTASTIC hire. Nurse background. Long time assistant.

Was assistant under
Scott Skiles in MIL and ORL each for 1 year
Thibs in CHI for 5 years
Donovan in OKC for 2 years
Nurse in TOR for 3 years

Lots of experience there.

Going to repeat my last post and say that it'd be a fantastic move in my eyes to get someone like Kokoskov to join his assistant staff.
