This is a sad, sad day, imo.

Nope, it just means Forde has to find someone who Cuban will trust unequivocally. So Cuban can just nod yes every time that guy suggests something.

Take that back...

I will hope for this outcome with everything I have until it's settled, but in my heart I don't believe it's possible.

I think this might be the beginning of the end for me, finally.

This. This whole charade was clearly not planned. Donnie, Rick and Fin conducted exit interviews for all the members of the team. Donnie was supposed to go to Slovenia this weekend. Both spoke of their summer plans just days ago.

Reports indicate that the Athletic article may have accelerated the house of cards falling, but that the dysfunction at the organization was the real catalyst, and things would likely have come to a head sooner rather than later, even without the article.

I really don't know if anyone is in charge there other than Cuban, or whether Cuban knows which end is up these days.

Everything we hear paints the the picture a little clearer.
Paraphrasing one well-balanced point from MacMahon regarding Voulgaris:

Yes, he had a lot of input with Rick on lineups. But if Voulgaris truly was dictating things, Green would have played way more than he did. So the idea of him being the guy in charge is overblown.

Absolutely.
“[Mavs] have a three year window to convince Luka that he can contend for championships in Dallas.”

McMahon...

That makes plenty of sense, and I'm sure that angle has been overblown (like a lot of things).

But, just the fact that the lines were blurry enough to allow the thought that a stat nerd was in charge of ANYTHING during a game to fester in some of these players' minds, even if untrue, is enough to tell me that things are bananas with the Mavs right now.

Bob can be great at his job but if everyone hates him and doesn't want to work with him (24 year tenured GM, 13 year tenured highly respected coach, and a potential best player in the world) it is all for not. Find someone else to do your analytics or lock Bob in a closet far, far, far away from the team.  If Bob is back next year, I wouldn't advise investing in an Luka merchandise.

MacMahon also said that IF Voulgaris is back next season (still TBD) he expects him to be completely unseen and nowhere near the team.
If Cuban was serious about the team succeeding he will sign Ujiri to a 5 year deal and step back to let him run the team.
Give him the authority to make all basketball related decisions.
Maybe Luka does like Mosley but let a veteran GM decide the coach not a 22yr old player.
If the team is successful and the coach treats Luka with respect he will be happy.

McMahon...

Not a huge fan of pulling time frames out of one's ass which is what it seems like McMahon is doing here.  But if he is right you basically have to nail this GM/Coaching decision.  This team is built for treading water.  Not good enough to contend but Luka isn't going to let any lineup be bad enough to get top prospects through the draft (we still owe two future firsts).
We went from the most blessed future to a dumpster fire...

Somewhere in Latvia.

A couple of more points from the Lowe Post segment with McMahon:

-Luka and KP do not like each other
-Letting JJ Barea go was a mistake, they hoped Boban could fill the role (or Redick later in the season)

His logic was:

1yr left on rookie deal
4yr extension with a 5th year player option (like Mitchell and Tatum)

so with 2 guaranteed years left would be when Luka has the power to demand out of here
Mak is back...

All stuff we knew (except for expecting Boban to be a leader, lol) but it's nice to have it more solidly confirmed, I guess.
