This is a seriously underrated point. Dame wanted Kidd. Giannis really didn't want Kidd fired. Stars want to play for him.

I think there is a very STRONG possibility that Luka's hate for Voulgaris pales in comparison to his hate for RC.

As I said, let´s hope so. Why wasn´t he able to work with the Brooklyn/bucks teams? Many people had him as THE WORST NBA coach during his Bucks tenure. He´s proven complete inability to translate his basketball brain to coaching.
oh and btw. His personality is not easy to deal with at all, I´d guess, as he can be quite stubborn. Mavs are wasting precious time here and I´m predicting now, that Kidd won´t be here one year from now.

I think Kidd was a naivete to coaching and didn't really know how to get the most out of his rosters. Those BKN and Buck teams were young too. Unproven talent+Unproven coaching leads to underwhelming results.
I do find it interesting that Bud comes in the next year and takes that MIL team to new heights. Kidd's coaching, while underwhelming, still had to have some sort of an effect in the development of their players to be able to do that under a new seasoned coach.
I also think that Kidd has learned valuable experience in LA. He won a championship there being a lead assistant and saw first hand what it takes to lead a team to the promise land.
I'm really coming around to it.

Also: we still won’t have the assets. That issue won’t go away anytime soon.
No, I really don’t see a positive angle to Kidd being the new headcoach. He failed everywhere in that role.

While I don't think Carlisle is the whole problem behind our lack of free agent success (look at how we treated Tyson, twice), people have scoffed at me for bringing this up in the past as if Kendrick Perkins were the only person throwing shade Carlisle's way.
One thing I do like about Kidd is that he doesn’t give a rat’s rear about Cuban. I still remember him chuckling when some reporters conveyed Mark’s threat of never having Kidd’s jersey in the rafters after he went back on his word and signed with the Knicks.

I don't think 0.500 ball as a coach is "failing" especially when you consider circumstances AND the fact that Kidd was really thrown into the fire with no assistant coaching experience.

You misunderstand or I wasn't being clear. I don't think Kidd = Mavs getting Dame. I think Kidd = stars more willing to come play for us.
Feeling bad for Jamahl. I wonder why Cuban doesn't like him as a head coach.
