For those who really want to dive much deeper on TBey and see him in context here is a great video for you:

Hoop Intellect has this guy in his top 30 on his big board. He might be a good flyer with #31 or with a bought second if the Mavs get a four at #18.

What an unfortunate name! Almost like it's a placeholder that the graphics guy forgot to replace before he bounced.
Looking at the vid, I'm concerned with Nesmith's tunnel-vision tendencies.  Probably won't make him a fit for our system, and/or will be his ticket to Rick's doghouse.

Good observation. Since RC has a big impact on our personnel, perhaps we should be looking at system/coaching fit more than anything else in the event that the Mavs don't trade #18.

Surprised Saddiq isn't there. Perhaps he thought that what would emerge there would hurt his stock.
i just want to know Azubuikes measurements. He declared in 2018 and was listed as 7ft/280 with a 7´7 wingspan (would be top 5 in the NBA). I want to know his max vertical reach and even more important how he performs in the quickness drills.
If he can move his feet as good as I expect he probably won´t make it to the 2nd round. Rumors have Boston taking him with one of their late 1sts.

Yeah that is actually a little concerning to me. Probably means he wouldn't test well athletically.
Or, it could mean he already has a guarantee from a team high enough that he and his agent don't want to rock the boat.

So, dose this hurt his chances of going in the mid teens?

He is intriguing to me....but I would in no circumstance spend a first round pick on him. His strengths would be great to have, but his weaknesses.....yikes.

Possible.

This is a weird draft in which the top two picks are pretty well set, but arguably have equal value to 3-10 because the guys at the top have so many question marks. Some team in that range would really have to be sold on Bell or Edwards in order to want to move up, unless they have a guy projected to go 3-10 whom they want to ensure is on the board when they draft. Minnie and Golden State may be hard pressed to find takers willing to move down, and even to find anyone willing to trade for those picks outright.
Here is some video on my boy Bolmaro. Just love what he brings to the table and despite all his flaws and weaknesses, just feels like a guy that will be part of winning.

I am also IN on Robert Woodard II....

I like Woodard a lot and am relatively sure that he will be there at #31. Would be a decent pickt there Imo, albeit I'm rooting for a few other guys to be available ahead of him with Bolmaro being one of them.

Btw: S. Bey not participating in the combine is not a good look Imo. I think he's not doing himself a favor with sitting out. But if that's what it takes for him to be available at #18 then I'll take it. I doubt his lateral quickness would test out well among wings.

Just curious, why is it a bad look for Bey, but not for the other guys who aren't participating?

Seems like the guys not participating are all projected as high picks, and really, it's kind of weird that Ball IS participating, right? Isn't it possible that Bey is being given assurances, behind the scenes, similar to what those other top tier guys are being given? In other words, what if all the big boards and mock drafts actually have him WAY lower than how the league sees his value, and he doesn't have anything to prove by participating?

To me, the story is that Ball IS participating. Tells me his camp isn't getting the nibbles they want.

General rule of thumb is the top 5 guys don't participate. Middle picks and lower all participate. SBey doesn't have nearly the stock needed to traditionally sit out. But who knows.

I also suspect his lateral quickness and explosiveness would test poorly and his agent thinks his film will speak better than such testing.

1) Guys who can gain from showing elite athleticism WANT to participate.

2) Guys who can lose from showing their athleticism in comparison to the field want to sit.

Just my general take.

Didn't mean to single him out. We often see the top guys stay out of the combine, but he's somewhat in the middle of the 1st projection-wise so I could see athletic freak or two who test out well vertically/laterally to get by him on some teams boards.
