Ntilikina + Smith Jr + Robinson + Barrett + Knox + 3 No 1s

Similar to the AD haul

KAT is good but why do they struggle to win with him?  Is he worth all that?

It does seem steep.  Essentially 4 1st round picks (Barrett + 3 futures).  The rest aren't anything to write home about.  The only way I see it being worth it is if KAT makes NYK a destination for free agents, because that's the only way they'll be able to put together a team around him after giving up all of those picks.
Barrett, 1s and Robinson would be a good haul for KAT. I like that Barrett. I'd rather just keep KAT though if I am the Wolves. I'd bring in his bud D'Ro who they should have signed last summer but they effed it up.
All I know is, if I'm the Knicks, and the fanbase is chanting sell the team, I'd trade all of those pieces for a superstar without hesitation. Rose would land with a superstar and street cred. They'd also still have Morris and 20/21 expiring deals and a moveable guy like Randle. Maybe they can move Morris for desirable assets that go to GSW. Not impossible to end the day with KAT and Russell.

And if I'm the Wolves, and have lost 13 straight, and KAT is quitting on the team (per Athletic article) I'd take the assets - as long as they're two 2021 picks - and tank next season - and hope for a Pelicans-tyoe revival. I'd also sell Wiggins to the highest bidder, even if it's a salary dump, because they need a culture change and Wiggins will always be a whipping boy.

Mavs would be a great landing spot for Wiggins, if the price is right.

Sure! How many unprotected firsts do we get for taking his albatross deal?

Trae Young defense.

I mean they were so bad on defense (the s5) that the overall defense of the Wolves got better when Covington was off the floor Big Grin

Not listening to arguments again, rather finding some obscure internet takes.

1. Everyone thought Iggy is a 3 months rental
2. Iggy alone doesn't move the needle, neither for Dallas, neither for Miami. Throw away bad salaries and bring in borderline all star, picture changes drastically. Iggy might move the needle for the likes of LAL and LAC, he doesn't for us. With the moves Miami made, he possibly came to the LAL and LAC level. Of course we don't know if it will work, but it looks extremely promissing.

Once again, if all players Miami is paying for a season and a half of Iggy and Gallo (possibly also extended) are Winslow, Johnson and Waiters or Olynik, Pat Riley is an absolute genious. You can flip your Iggy takes as much as you can, but this is a fact.

If Gallo deal fails, Riley paid:
Winslow, Johnson, Olynik or Waiters and no picks! for
Iggy, Crowder and Hill.

Not bad either, they still gor rid of 2 bad contracts while not giving away picks. Winslow was not playing much due to injuries, so he was expendable. Move doesn't make them considerably better, but gets them out of tax and gives them some flexibility next year.

Miami did good on the trade and got useful players...

Looks like it won't happen.

What is interesting, so far:
- no moves for Detroit
- no moves for Chicago
- no moves for LAL or LAC
- no moves for NYK
- OKC, Portland and GSW are still in tax

We can still expect action, perhaps even a lot of it.
What could we offer for Gallo that would get them interested? The GSW pick would have to be included along with Lee. They'll want more though.

If Maxi and DFS are off the table, I would imagine at least 2025 first, Jackson and perhaps more. If GSW2nd would be enough, Miami would close the deal.
Clippers clearing roster spot. Either another deal is coming or just creating space for the buyout market.
Where is Wiggins going to land?
