They´d have to take Powell + Wright. No cap increase for 2021/2022.

Anyone know what happened to him?

At age 23 he was on an upward trajectory shooting 50/40/80 for two seasons; 16/3/3 with 1.5 stls and top defense.

Last two years.... 41/32/80 with 11/3/2. Both two large of a sample size to be just a slump/fluke.
Interesting that GSW prefers picks over a quality role player like RoCo. I wonder if there will be more deals with that expiring salary and picks for them.
That firing has been rumored since the summer after the Knicks struck out.

Mills traded away their franchise cornerstone for pennies on the dollar and then gave out some of the worst contracts in the league.

If the Knicks get Masai though, watch out.

I LOVE Gary Harris.

He'd be a great fit here. But I'm sure the Nuggets aren't going to gift wrap a rotation player for Courtney Lee.

Sorry, but like everything else with the Knicks, this move 3 days ahead of TDL is just stupid. New guy will have 0 time to do anything. They should have fired Mills months ago.

Nah, they want to upgrade. They have Harris replacement in Beasley just waiting for his minutes, if needed. Gallo, Jrue type of guys is what they are after.

True.  OKC acquired him then after the PG/Russ trades offered both Muscala and Burks the opportunity to leave if they wanted.  Muscala chose to stay and Burks left.

Minny would definitely be a winner, especially if they get Russell. I am not sure about the other two. 2 first rounders for RoCo are a huge price. I wonder where they will come from. Both from Atlanta or one from Houston.
If I am Atlanta, am I really paying 2 first rounders for Capella. He is good, but is he really worth that much? Will Young, Collins, Capella and a good (but not star) free agent or two really make Atlanta a contender?
The Clint Capela trade rumors continue, with one potential deal discussed involving the Minnesota Timberwolves and Atlanta Hawks that could facilitate another swap involving D'Angelo Russell.
Per The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor, trade discussions have centered on the Houston Rockets receiving Robert Covington, with Capela going to the Hawks and Brooklyn's 2020 first-round pick transferring from Atlanta to Minnesota.
O'Connor noted that by moving Covington, the T-Wolves hope to accrue enough assets to satisfy Golden State's demands for Russell, which apparently don't include protections on Minnesota's first-round draft pick.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Tuesday that talks are ongoing, with the Timberwolves "orchestrating" discussions in hopes of landing Russell. However, he cautioned there is a "gulf to overcome" for a deal to be completed.

Trade deadline rumors picking up.  Love it even tho 99.9% never happen its still a fun time
I'd like Marcus Morris. I just don't know how serious these teams are. A lot of these guys they might put out there thinking a team will send them a late one for a rental player. I just don't see that happening very often. If they will take a garbage 2nd, sure let's go.
I would do Lee, Jackson, GSW 2nd and a couple seconds more for Morris.
I'd do Wright and Lee with a bump of the currently owed 1st round picks to begin this year (we owe 2020 and 2022) for Morris and Frankie Smokes.

"Every team will feel like a winner out of this too."

Except Golden State.  Which is supposedly the entire reason Minny is looking to make a deal.  And Minnesota may find it difficult to match salaries without Covington and may not be willing to just do the deal for picks now.  So the whole things sounds iffy to me without the Warriors on board.

BTW, if Philly keeps underperforming I could see Golden State and Philly talking about a Simmons for Russell swap this summer.  Philly desperately needs shooting, and GS could let Simmons play forward next to Curry and Klay.  Why would GS deal Russell now for a mediocre return when there could be way better options in July?

Looks like HOU is a winner if they don't have to send picks and get a center (Len or Looney).

A Simmons, Russell swap is kind of interesting but I still don't know what position Simmons plays lol. He is like a PF/C that passes like a PG?
