Did you mean to say consistent shooter, or higher volume shooter? Delon is 40% from 3, but only takes 1.7 per game. Don't let Omahen's valuation of him bring down what you see in him. He's a better player than his playing time here suggests. If he was on the Lakers with that type of spacing and assist targets, he'd be pretty darn good.

He wants that role, I'd love to see what he could do with that role here, just don't see it happening. At least not in the short term. Maybe the long game approach as others are suggesting (first get KP and Luka figured out, then get Luka and Wright figured out) is what is happening, but he doesn't seem to be in that loop according to the interview with Cato. Seems like he should be in the loop if that indeed was the plan.

Good point. Probably should've added higher volume 3PT shooter. Wright has done a good job knocking down his shots when he takes them .... but he's not someone the defense has to stay attached to. Defenders will come off Wright to tag the roller, they go under screens and will drop into the paint to play his drive.

Wright doesn't have gravity beyond the arc simply because he's just not a much of a threat to even take a three. Wright shoots a three about once per 12 minutes he's on the court.

For comparison, defenders still help off of DFS (who is shooting about the same percentage) but he takes threes at a much higher rate than Wright, about 1 per 7 minutes, or 60% more frequently!

Moreover, the Lakers already have a point guard who's shooting 38% on about the same volume as DFS... Rajon Rondo.

Wright needs to consistently take 3's at a much higher rate, while maintaining his percentage, before defenses will respect him as a floor spacer. So bottom line, if the Lakers want a big, floor spacing PG who can switch, Delon Wright doesn't seem to be the answer.

Wright's usage overall is at a career low. Not sure why he's being such a wuss but he needs to gain some confidence because when he decides to be aggressive and make a play his metrics are elite.
"Detroit initially asked for Cam Reddish, in a deal, but were rebuffed."

One could said they dodged a bullet there Smile It doesn't look there are any other serious bidders for Drummond

Henson is the guy that makes sense to me.  Cheap to acquire in terms of assets and good defensive backup big.
