I guess the tank is over.  The Mavs will have to rebuild their front court by pulling the likes of Kenneth Faried out of the ash heap and maybe finding some G Leaguers. They’ve got nothing to offer. The Knicks have single handedly destroyed Cuban and the Mavs.  I’ve never really seen anything like it.
This organization is an absolute mess… I simply can‘t understand what they are thinking. Win two play-in games away from home and then beat the Nuggets, because Powell will shut down Jokic?

You called it.

Team Tank was fun while it lasted.
I was hoping the Mavs could still tank if OKC wins twice, but we don't even get to see what happens in the OKC-Memphis game before playing San Antonio. Both games are at 2:30 on Sunday.

Much of where we go from here would seem to depend on the Utah/OKC game tonight.  If OKC gets their 43rd loss, we control our destiny for the play-in by winning out.  BTW, the TWolves have a Sat/Sun back to back to end the season before their likely appearance in the play-in.

We still control our destiny for the 10th spot in the Tankathon rankings if we lose out because one of those losses would give Chicago their 39th win.

It was a weird atmosphere in the arena last night.  I felt bad for Chris Arnold, because the crowd wasn’t into it all.  Then, Kyrie goes off and the team comes back from 13 down and next thing you know, the arena was rocking.  I was rooting for a loss, but have to admit I was happy for the guys to get the win.  It felt like the players and the crowd needed something positive to happen.

Depends if Utah continues to rest their key players for the rest of the season. Markannen, Clarkson, Kessler, and Sexton didn't play and they still took the Lakers to OT before losing. The same could be said for Memphis vs OKC this weekend.

That’s a very tricky game… Was hoping for Utah to win before we bet the Kings to give us a chance for 9th best lottery odds, now OKC should probably win so that we give up and maximize our chances to keep our pick, right?
we cant get the 9th best odds anyway. no way would jazz stop tanking at this moment and they ain't got a manager as stupid as ours. plus, the jazz have extra incentives to lose games to increase the odds of wolves (whose 23 pick is owned by jazz) going to the lottery zone. bulls still think they are a good team so they will try their best, which means we will likely finish between jazz and bulls.
I think many here are overlooking that Chicago has nothing to play for tomorrow.  If the Mavs go all out and beat the Bulls, they are 11th.

Also Thunder are not done either. Utah resting everybody and it looks like the Thunder might still lose. If nothing else a close Thunder win tonight will convince Cuban that Memphis beats them on the last night (probably correct), so winning out against Chicago´s and SA´s C-Teams will get us into the play-in.

It´s so sad, but Cuban will simply not understand that he´s only in the play-in-season, cause the Jazz and Thunder wanted him to be. Utah could have easily won 42 games. I´m honestly not sure what´s going on in OKC. Not like they are missing a lot of players, but they have a lot of tanking experience to manage to suddenly close the season with a massive losing streak.

And their own pick to Orlando is top 4 protected, so they have every incentive now to finish as low was possible. What a crazy concept.
Sucks for the fans and Luka, but Cuban doesn't deserve to be rewarded with a top 10 pick
Donovan already suggested they may sit Zach, Demar and Vooch.
One thing I would love to see, because it would be a little bit of sweet tasting revenge:
We end up 11th, the Knicks are happy they fleeced our stupidity for a couple of weeks - and then we get lucky and move into the Top 4. Kyrie, pray to the God of the flat earth to make this happen!

Yeah then we can mock draft for six weeks before Cuban trades the pick for Gordon Hayward. Big Grin
Mavs win the last two games. Chicago loses the last two games. OKC beats Memphis.

Best of both worlds. No pick and no play-in.

Sadly, this is starting to also feel like the most likely outcome.  It would take a substantial effort to lose to the Chicago scrubs tonight.  Game of the year for team tank.
Seems like Mavs are raring most of the team tonight (except maybe Luka). Finally going tank mode. I guess if they lose tonight, they’re 10th, so rooting for a loss.

So there is some question floating out there as whether Luka is against this sort of tanking/resting move the Mavs (and other teams) are doing.
That could factor into why he is not resting.   Will Luka get wandering eyes because of tank-resting?   Drama?

Maybe he doesn't like it and not playing along but will feel differently if they hit on nice draft pick.  Idea

Strange… So now they do tank after all? Was our last straw the Jazz beating OKC yesterday and now we give up and try to save our pick? This team keeps confusing me.
Watching for Luka and Hardy combining for 80 points and us winning with a buzzer beater.
