Information UFA: Mavs sign Yudai Baba (but have now waived him)

Probably will end up a Texas Legend after this exhibit10 / training camp deal is over and the roster gets trimmed down to 17.

  Fire Carlisle

I'm just kidding, just wanted to be the first one on the new board to make the suggestion

But if the mavs somehow miss the playoffs again what are the odds carlisle is fired? I think the expectations are going to be a little higher this year.

What will Boban’s role on the team be? I was recently in touch with an esteemed former db poster and he thinks it’s possible he could be a top option. Also, can he fit with KP?

I had a nice visit with Magik today. He's an IT whiz like Dahl and Mak and so many others of you who want what's best for us ... and ME. (And I'm not being sarcastic. For all the frustration, I'm flattered that we're all working through this transition.)

I had a long visit with SI today about trying to make 'Community' feel like it's own separate thing, and not connected to each story. I'm finding that to be y'all's biggest gripe. (Right?)

Now, the stuff about, 'I can't post a GIF' or whatever is universal. Every system has stuff I like or you hate or whatever.

I think what Magik has come up with here is fine; since I own the logo and stuff, nobody but me can get mad about it. Smile

I'm told that direct URL here won't work in a beneficial way to what SI is trying to do with me ... But that doesn't mean this cannot exist ... or co-exist ... or be a transition through the pain .. as we get to HERE:

when we click on DallasBasketball.com (clear your browsers so it goes right!) https://mavensports.io/mavericks/ or MavsSI.com (I'm smart! I bought em both!) ... It takes you to the main news page. Just like the previous editions of DBcom for 21 years.

I'm getting them to make THIS https://mavensports.io/mavericks/news/ Function as it does now (click it) ... it's NO stories, just YOUR comments (I think) ... and I'm getting them to label that DBcom BOARDS

I'm also working with them on a FAQ.

And they are inviting MODS to a group session for training and junk, and Dahl and Mak and Magik (and Fiftheeen and Clutch??) I'd love you have you guys involved.

I appreciate y'all's patience (yes, that goes even for you impatient guys Smile .... Stick with me. My big priorities are
1) Learning the system
2) Mavs CONTENT
3) 'Community' functionality
4) Getting rich.
5) Sharing my wealth with y'all in the form of beer.

we'll get there.
Love, Fish

NEWS: Nine Mavs Players Spend 3 Days in Miami Training
Posted by: Kammrath - 09-17-2019, 09:16 AM - Forum: Dallas Mavericks and the NBA - Replies (4)

Quote:Luka Doncic and Dwight Powell were among at least nine Mavericks who spent three days training together in Miami last week, returning to Dallas on Friday. “Just team-bonding,” Doncic said. “It was a good trip, for sure.”

Powell said players began communicating early in the summer about coming together, as a team, for a working vacation of sorts. “It was great to get guys together, spend time together away from Dallas outside of the season,” he said. “Obviously we’ll be together on the road when the season starts, but it’s good to get some team dinners and get everybody on the same page.”

Although it was largely a players-only trip, the Mavericks organization did send a small group of assistant coaches and trainers to monitor and assist in the workouts.

Quote:Mavericks players, of course, have been scrimmaging with and against Porzingis in the flesh. “He’s very good,” Powell said with a laugh. "He’s very, very good. I’m excited, very excited.”

What has most stood out in the play of Porzingis, who has not appeared in an NBA game since tearing the anterior cruciate in his left knee on Feb. 6, 2018?

“He’s 7-foot-3 and he shoots it from anywhere, with ease. It’s kind of hard to affect that shot. He’s moving well, he’s at full-strength.” Powell paused. Another laugh. “He’s looking very good out there. We’re all very excited.”

Quote:JJ Barea, who ruptured his right Achilles last season and underwent surgery on Jan. 14, said he began playing five-on-five recently and that he has been medically cleared to take part in the opening day of training camp.

“That’s the plan,” he said.
