Hm, Wrights brother tweet after the game (quickly deleted):

Some dudes get the bag and be happy to play maybe play. You got a dude that does all the little things to help yo team win every night. And you don’t use him lol. Watch out. I’m fed up

Not sure we watched the same game. Outside of that last minute steal, Wright was nothing special defensively in this one. And his continous problem is, that he is too passive offensively. But, it is starting to look like Wright is not happy here.

Has felt that way for awhile. Just seems like he is one of those guys who cannot coexist with RC (not sure who to blame here).

I will honestly be surprised if Delon is still on the team after the trade deadline.

Very much agree.

While I understand his being butthurt at the Mavs' Howard pursuit, if he would have been a little more patient, he probably could have stayed a Mav at a similar contract. Not a good look for Mark, but the divorce was nearly as much on Ty.

Why would a player wait when a team is infatuated with someone else? What if the other team had moved on while he waited on the Mavs?   TC was not going to get a big money deal from many teams that he could patiently wait and see.

But do you think he has positive trade value? 9 per for a back up point guard is high in my opinion. Especially since whole league sees that he is limited, no high ceiling here at 27 years old.

He, he, this makes my CP3 deal even easier. Lee, Wright and Powell for CP3, Patton and Nader.

RC is the reason a lot of FA's are reluctant, to sign here. His prickly attitude,  and standoffish personality, got him fired in Detroit. He's a good coach, but he's deficient in people skills.

What is Chime, a bank or financial company?
I think it is obvious - if we add Beal, any of the elite wings (Kawhi, George, LeBron) or perhaps even Jrue, this team becomes immediate contender. 3-D guy who can also facilitate for himself and others is the biggest need of this team. I wonder if Beal would be available in the summer

Jrue has no 3-ball and Beal has no D. Jrue is more of a slashing playmaker and D specialist. Beal right now ranks last among all player in the league in DRPM at -4.26.
Beal also only shoots 31% from 3 this season.
Wizards tanking obviously influences his numbers but I always had him in the fool`s gold category. Similar to Booker and Wiggins. The scoring numbers don´t match the impact.
No we should have signed Butler and everyone in the front office looked the other way. Now, there is no one to sign to make us contenders this year. Maybe we can find what we need in the offseason. But with this front office, I would not hold my breath. More than likely we will be a first or second round exit for the next few years.

The first half of this article is spot on.  We need our Wade or Middleton.  Question is when?

Now, while we have a large TPE and expiring Lee

Summer when we have #1 pick and maybe a high 2nd and cap flexibility once July gets here?

Plot and plan for Summer of 2021?

My answer is whenever the right deal materializes.  In the mean time, remain flexible.

I am thinking about Mavs team building philosophy and came to this. Seems like they prefer to fill roster spots 11-15 with experienced vets for very special assignments used just here and there. Devin and Mejri last season, Bro, JJB and Bobi this season. We only had Roby as a young player on 11-15 roster spot and we released him.

The only team similar to us from this perspective I can think of is LAL, who really went all in and traded away all youngster.

Other contenders usually have these roster spots for developing players while vets play in regular rotation. A few examples:
Clippers: Robinson, Mann, Kabengele, Walton
Brooklyn: Musa, Kurucs, Pinson, Claxton
Denver: Hernangomez, Beasley, Cancar, Vanderbilt
Milwaukee: Bender, Brown, DJ Wilson

I wonder if our team building philosophy is really smart in this part. While players like Bobi and Barea certainly bring some sparks in special situations, we are not really giving any space for developing young guys. Either he is good enough to crack the regular rotation or he will be better off somewhere else.

Great news. He was slowly pushing Jackson out of the rotation prior to his injury. Might not have the size but the way Jackson is shooting right now it might be time for some DNP coach decision.
Mavs have a chance to make hay vs Houston.  They play a back to back Sun/Mon on road vs Denver/Utah.  Harden out today and maybe Mon.  Russ has been rested on 2nd of BtB so they could lose both games.
