I hate hate hate hate hate that 2 for 1....
God I wish Dinwiddie would just stop complaining. Like yes you're getting hit. You're also making dumb plays. He's not good enough to be whining on every little touch.

He did, the ball just caromed right to where Gobert was being boxed out to.

Really? Well that is fucking scandalous or calculated manipulation by the NBA. That basically gives refs an actual (human) incentive to cheat against winning teams. Well nothing surprises me in the NBA anymore. They should have a fixed annual salary.
Bertans with eight minutes and one shot attempt.  That 2-for-1 attempt at the end of the half.  Not Kidd's best work.
14-2: Free Throws

3-3: SD FG’s and TO’s

28-13: Rebounds

Those are the numbers that lead to 55-48.  If those numbers don’t move the Mavs direction this one may turn into a runaway.

They do have a flat fixed annual salary. Each playoff game is a "bonus". 10K first round. Like 50k for 2nd round. And then 80-100k if I remember right for the finals.
Mitchell and Brunson both with 21 at half. Only difference is Mitchell is getting help,  Brunson only Mav in double figures. And Bogie hasn't even got off for Utah.
Even with Luka playing, the frontcourt would have gotten exposed...either in this series or against Phoenix. Good enough to get by against a different opponent every night in the regular season but not good enough to survive a playoff series.
Doncic, Brunson, DFS. Cut Powell´s salary in half next year and work on cleaning out the rest of the team by any means necessary. It´s a f*cking crime against Doncic that he´s not competing for a championship. He´s basically LeBron in Cleveland.
What happened with Powell? Eight minutes in the half? Is he injured or not very good?

Well then it´s obvious where the problem is. Or not a problem if you are the league. If I´m calling an NBA finals series and it´s a hopeless 2-0 situation headed for a sweep *cough 2006*, well the league wants more games and the refs want more paycheques. LOL.
Powell’s offensive success is tied to Luka. Need spacing and shooters because the pick and roll isn’t effective with our two gourds vs Gobert. +\- doesn’t always tell the whole story. Not saying there is a definite better option or anything… just my observation/thoughts on why he’s not playing much
This setup is the kind of situation where the refs sometimes spend a quarter making the FTs even. We might be about to get all the friendly calls we missed 1st half.

Can´t play him, cause he does absolutely nothing except play team defense. He doesn´t rebound. He doesn´t score. He doesn´t shoot. He has a place on this roster, but this is the 2nd post-season in a row his limitations are exposed. He´s like a shitty son-in-law version of Rodman. Big Grin
Even with Luka, I think this would be a tight series.

Absolutely. The Jazz have a TON of talent.
Powell can't shoot. They need a big man to space the floor to open up the lanes for Brunson and Dinwiddie (conceptually) so that's why they continue to rely on Kleber...even though he is usually bricking his threes but at least he poses the threat that defenses have to somewhat respect.

Playoff defenses aren't going to just let Powell run free for lobs and dunks like the regular season. When they cut that off, there's nowhere to go with the ball

There are no good options at this point, it's just rolling the dice and hoping for the best outcome with some luck.
Soon as it gets to +10, it's over.  Dinwiddie with four fouls.

I just don't see who on Utah can slow down Playoff Luka. The man dropped nearly 40 a game on Kawhi+PG, a much better team than this Jazz.
