I don't know what any of that means. I wish I would've been around for that thread. It's like a giant inside joke I'm not part of.

Quick summary: a poster wanted Harrison Barnes to get Luka to come to Jesus because of his "satanic illuminati" tattoos.

Why dont they teach this in schools?  Riiiight...."figure it out for yourself".

Again....do you want your neighbor f'ing you up and taking your stuff? Right...."Survival...the smart people get it".

But its ok to lie to kids about being civil.   Throw a civilian in jail for stealing at the corner store, though.

And people should just be ok with this and blindly follow and not try and make things better?  War game?

Being half evil for science or survival doesnt seem intelligent to me.

Umm, the American army fighting the British were not trying to "take their stuff", or anything like that.  They were trying to keep the British from taxing them without any representation.  I don't understand why you can't see the necessity for people to form a government to protect them.  Just review world history for a while and you will see why it's necessary.

I loved those "protest" and "peace" songs from the 1960's, and I wish the world could work like that and "sing in perfect harmony".  But it never will, because of human nature.  The truly intelligent person learns from the past and recognizes the true nature of humans.  The only solution is to attempt to form "a more perfect union", based on a set of commonly shared and agreed upon mores and beliefs, which is what our founders did.

And, no, a civil society cannot, again keeping in mind human nature and the lessons of history, allow theft of other people's property to become acceptable, because then it really is going to degenerate into the survival of the strongest.  The strong will simply take what they want and to hell with the others.

2. dynamicalVoid, war is not something that just happens like a bet between some rich guys, geopolitics often force the politicians hand.  War is the single most horrible part of humanity but it happens for many reasons.  The best explanations that I have seen are on youtube channel the Caspian report.  Check out the latest analysis on Armenia vs Azerbaijan war it will show you how it got to where it is.
3.  Anarchy as you desire exists.  Please see some videos on Somalia it will show you what happens when it becomes ok to "f up your neighbor"
4.  Despite the bad history and the many problems with America such as racism, and crime, the country as a whole is totally awesome.  The fact that you can write what you wrote is already a testament to that.  I think if you are able to see life in other places it will really open your eyes.  I highly recommend this channel it will show you what life looks like in other places:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCStGsls...9XnmwnsYWw
Yes, like I think I wrote before here, it's common for us humans to not know how great we have it, until it's taken away from us.

I really wished we saved that thread. Just the premise of it is so dang funny.

Ok.

Sooo...why did we invade Iraq and Afghanistan?  Because some dudes in sandals had World altering WMD?  The best military in the World had bad intelligence?  They just HAPPENED to have a bunch of oil?  Or was it for Global positioning so we could build bases there to keep and eye on other countries?  If so...why were we fed WMD?  Legit questions.   Ok...I get it...it had nothing to do with us and they were no threat to us...we were helping our allies.

Im not anti-military...im anti-lies.

One of you mentioned protecting your country...how is teaching kids to be civil making your country stronger?  In your opinion...should Governments attack civilian men for not joining the military?

Listen...I dont hate America...I just think there are a bunch of lies and no one wants to admit it?  Why?  Psychology? War?

Im the bad guy though.

Man, I keep reading you and trying to understand you, but you keep coming with this when anyone asks you what you're actually saying.

I've seen attacks in your posts against people that don't understand things the way you do. So I would assume you would expect a bit of hostility in return from at least a certain amount of posters. When you come with insulting words, expect insulting words back is the moral to this story.

That's also not to say that everyone that has replied to you have had insulting things to say. KL and Kamm and others have asked you to restate your opinions in a bit more of a clear way, I keep looking for that post from you. I'm genuinely interested in what you have to say, but I can't figure out what it is from what you're writing, like KL said.

The Iraq and Afghanistan questions seem like part of the whole that you're getting at, and not all wars are cut and dry like the Revolutionary War. There has been lots of ink spilled about the right and wrong of war, and it's been taught in schools too, so that makes it hard for me to figure out why you're off on that rant.

Nice try.

You are the one playing word games like the good soldier you are.  You cant admit that you dont want people messing with you...but you will go mess with others in the name of Country.

Ive been clear as day...but you do what every other groupthink backer does...you deflect or attack.   Like a good soldier.

You will do anything in the name of Country?  Lie and kill for a country?  You will not have a reasonable conversation if its against my Countries beliefs?  Full on Groupthink.

I have stated clearly that I am anti-lies and that it doesnt make sense that there is a double standard with civilians and governments.  You have stated clearly that you dont want to answer the questions but instead just say im some babbling troll that doesnt make sense or isnt clear.  Ive stated the questions a few times...but you win because you say I dont make sense or Im not clear.   Winning...its amazing.  Win...at all cost.

I guess I win?  Since you wont answer the questions?  IM A WINNER!! It feels soooo wonderful...I feel alpha now...yay.  Feels amazing.

Psychology and War are so great.  I will now go base my life off them.

This is AMAZING! You pegged me SO well! Bravo. I must retreat to my hole and figure up more word games to thwart your attempt to foil me yet again!
Ill sell my soul for a win!
Hey...I gave you all enough chances to come back with something more mental than just showing me who you really are and what youre about...

You should have asked me if I eat meat or something like that.  I would have said "yes" (Im an honest Beta male) and then you could tell me how Im a fool because Im ok with eating meat when someone had to kill the animal for the meat but Im not ok with wars/killing. Its not apples to apples but it boils down to killing and its better than just avoiding the question.

Anyway...Im done with this thread.
Gosh.  I can't understand dynamicalVoid either...

Dude, I never said you were "the bad guy".  It seems like you just automatically take offense to just about anything anybody posts.

Also, I never said anything about the Iraq war, nor did I claim that it was justified or a good idea.  And I don't see how you can jump from my reference to the Revolutionary War to the Iraq war hundreds of years later.

I think if you are really in the "America is bad" crowd, you should just come out and say it.  It seems that you have a really low opinion of the country in general.  If that is not the case, my apologies, and I just can't figure out why you say the things you say.
I mean, I've come out and said I want ALL the current politicians wiped out of the gov and start over with new politicians that will do what their constituents want them to do, not be sold to the highest lobbying bidder. I don't want no government, I want better politicians. Also, put term limits on ALL the governing offices. These people have gotten so engrained into their offices that they begin to do what they want and profit off of it.
(02-12-2021, 01:23 AM)haveitall Wrote: [ -> ]That is a very good explanation about how people feel.  However such thoughts don't come from a vacuum. A lot of this comes from parents, friends, the people around.  But my opinion its self destructive to allow history to make a person think that they are always at a disadvantage.  Here is an analogy imagine a dog born with 3 feet, it doesn't know it should have 4 and it lives life well hopping around.  But if an individual believes that no matter what they do they will be at a disadvantage it becomes a self fulfilling prophesy.

On a personal note growing up as a minority in the Soviet Union I experienced racism directly.  However I was taught not to look for it but to avoid it.  I was taught that if I am at a disadvantage for getting into a certain college than I need to study twice as hard as a non-Jew.  I really think that works.

Certainly none of us really live in a vacuum.  Its the marketplace of ideas and we are all affected by it whether we recognize or not.  I used the word propaganda because its important that we understand that governments, entertainment leaders, media organizations even the big tech companies are all working to influence and manipulate public perception and behavior.
Quote: I was taught that if I am at a disadvantage for getting into a certain college than I need to study twice as hard as a non-Jew.  I really think that works.

That ethos is a very good one and many of us promote the same ideas here in many American minority communities and families as well you can be sure of that.

You and I can get together and sing "make this world a better place, if you can" but just around the corner there can be a nasty war of words or even a physical war going on right in our same community and country.
The question becomes what are we going to do about that?

The desire of some to be more neutral and peaceful doesn't change many other people that approach a different way, aggressively.  Not everyone is going to approach racism in that way, especially if they see the opportunity to address it with political and financial power.

Essentially, you can't always be neutral in a war if the war continues and escalates around you.  You can roll over and be brutalized but neutral eventually may not be an option. We'll all be, and are being affected.

Thanks for the kind words.

If I can at least be thought provoking and entertaining at the same time, especially on important matters like racism, war/peace and why isn't Boban being used right, then that's a win/win in my book.  Blush

Well dynamicalVoid I haven't seen you respond to my response and I'm not sure you really addressed other people's questions to you such as asking you to clarify your points.  For instance I didn't see you address the issue of how to deal with evil?

I know you're done but 2 simple questions I'll leave based on your question.

1) Is there any situation you can imagine where war or violence might be the necessary or the right response to a situation?

2) What is a dynamical void ?  Huh
