The Clippers aren’t guaranteeing guard Eric Gordon’s $21 million contract and he’ll become a free agent, sources tell ESPN. Gordon has averaged 16 points on 37 percent three-point shooting in his 15-year career.

They always have Luka at PG and the year JB started he was a SG.

They do have a lot of talent. Maybe too much for guys who all think they are better than they are and are all looking for their second contract. That is why I think it could get messy.
Also, when a team doesn't have "A guy" (#1 on a good team) things can go off the rails. Maybe one of Houston's kids turns into one. Hard to tell.
If I was an established FA, I would stay away. I would hope to use them as leverage but would have very little interest winding up in Houston right now.

John Collins is 5th in TS% since 2000.
Ainge is a smart GM who doesn’t assume the status quo in his decisions. Collins’ shooting declined last year supposedly because of the hand injury. Some people suggest it will be a permanent problem. In the meantime, he went from a bad to a pretty good defender. If he recovers from the injury and starts to hit near 40% from three again, his contract becomes reasonable and Ainge will have stolen a good player.
[Stein] It has reached the point when I speak to various teams that it would be a legitimate leaguewide surprise now if Fred VanVleet and Dillon Brooks don’t strike verbal agreements to join the Houston Rockets by Friday night.

VanVleet, as covered in this cyberspace Wednesday, is expected to receive a two-year offer from Houston worth a projected maximum of $83.6 million.
Brooks has been regarded for days as an even likelier free agent to join the Rockets — also on a two-year deal in the $14-to-$16 million range annually

If true, Kyrie signs here or its a SnT with whatever team he picks.
I think those moves make Houston a decent team. Udoka as coach. They can still make some moves with some of their young talent to add even more.
Someone post one of those "Dwight Powell is 98th percentile as a roll man" type stats to make me feel better about Drummond.
edit: whoops wrong thread

I know Brooks is a hot topic around here, but personally I would be thrilled if they sign him. He's a great buy low opportunity on an all defensive team player. Also I think our team can get his 3% percentage up. Mavs have had good look with players getting better with shooting here.
Gonna be so pissed if we use any of the MLE on Drummond

Yeah I'm a little more open to low efficiency wings after seeing what Wiggins did for the Warriors
But maybe that's just an isolated case

Most likely the latter. Former first pick that used to average 20+ ppg on slightly below league average efficiency compared to one of the top 10 inefficient chuckers in the league. Even in his worst season (rookie year) he had a better TS% than the best version of Brooks.
When his name is mentioned I always come back to this article. "Kobe" shot selection with Kilian Hayes level shot making.

Another quality quote
“Dillon Brooks thinks hes the reason Kobe wore 24”
My guess is all of these guys are on the move. Could be something like
Herro --> MIN
Ayton --> POR
Dame --> MIA
Harden --> PHO
Irving --> PHI
KAT --> DAL
... with various players / picks to even things out
Why are we linked to KAT all the sudden? Seems strange.
