Not long, I wouldn’t think. My memory is a little bit foggy, but I think it took quite a while before Dirk was this prominently featured, offensively. Like, I think maybe he didn’t get to this point until Avery Johnson was the coach.

Wow, much longer than I would’ve guessed, and a sobering testament to what the great Dirk Nowitzki accomplished here, imo.

So a lot is made of how many triple-doubles Luka gets, but I had a vague feeling he was actually leaving some “on the table”, and should have had a lot more.

I just went back and checked all his regular and postseason game logs, and he’s missed the triple-double by either one rebound or one assist ELEVEN times!
