Charlotte has the cap space to absorb Delon.

Dumping his contract - freeing up future cap space *and* a future roster spot - would not be terrible at all, if we don't want to make a sign and trade.

Good point. This could be a mechanism to acquire a player without sending too much salary back.  Charlotte would be a natural 3rd team to involve in a larger deal.

My issue with Brunson is that, while I get the sense that he and Luka are kind of tight off the court, they mesh quite poorly on-court. Brunson is quite good when he's the guy initiating the offense. His body language off-ball to Luka - not to mention his play - seems to be not that good based on the experience of watching Mavs games the past two years.

I don't think Brunson would play that "with Luka" role anymore. That role belongs to Richardson now.

Delon Wright <--> Malik Monk seems reasonable if the Mavs just want to get off Wright.

As Monk's DraftExpress profile points out, Carlisle has had success with similar though much more accomplished players ... JET, Harris and Monta Ellis.

Why don't we add two tough vets in Hill and Tucker. They perfectly fill the holes this team have and add veteran leadership. Both seem like good guys. I guess they could be obtainable for minor compensation.

Well, I wouldn't say never. I just don't think that's his "role". Seems like that's exactly what Richardson was brought here to do. Maybe Brunson overlaps with Luka because Richardson probably won't play Luka minutes.

They barely play together. Brunson + Luka had a positive net rating +2.6 in only 202 minutes!!!!

To put this into perspective, last minute man Trey Burke + Luka played 210 minutes together in the bubble, and they had a negative net rating of - 1.9

One thing I like about Wood is that he's gotten two chances at regular playing time in the last two years, and both times he has shined.

Wood got his first real opportunity for NBA minutes with the Pelicans at the end of last year while Anthony Davis sat out amid his trade demand. He responded by playing like ... a rough facsimile of Anthony Davis. Even though it was only an eight-game stretch at the end of the season, Wood averaged 17 points and eight rebounds in 23 minutes per night. He’s carried that with him to Detroit.

Hornets guard has 2 years left on his contract. The Los Angeles Clippers have explored a deal for Hornets guard Terry Rozier, as reported by Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix.

Rozier signed with Charlotte last offseason and has 2 years left on his contract, at approximately $17M per season.
