Who does Charlotte have??? Rozier? Monk??? Perhaps a three team - Hill from NO would look great for us and they certainly don't want Wright back.

If they want to take their time with KP, Zeller is an expiring big.

Charlotte has the cap space to absorb Delon without sending anything back.

I still hate there was such a disconnect between Rick and Wright
He still has the upside to be a viable starter just not here

All the goofus had to do was shoot when he was wide open

Dumping his contract - freeing up future cap space *and* a future roster spot - would not be terrible at all, if we don't want to make a sign and trade.

Good point. This could be a mechanism to acquire a player without sending too much salary back.  Charlotte would be a natural 3rd team to involve in a larger deal.

My issue with Brunson is that, while I get the sense that he and Luka are kind of tight off the court, they mesh quite poorly on-court. Brunson is quite good when he's the guy initiating the offense. His body language off-ball to Luka - not to mention his play - seems to be not that good based on the experience of watching Mavs games the past two years.

I don't think Brunson would play that "with Luka" role anymore. That role belongs to Richardson now.

If Brunson's role is solely off the bench and never playing with Luka, that's barely even rotational minutes.

Delon Wright <--> Malik Monk seems reasonable if the Mavs just want to get off Wright.

As Monk's DraftExpress profile points out, Carlisle has had success with similar though much more accomplished players ... JET, Harris and Monta Ellis.

Why don't we add two tough vets in Hill and Tucker. They perfectly fill the holes this team have and add veteran leadership. Both seem like good guys. I guess they could be obtainable for minor compensation.

Well, I wouldn't say never. I just don't think that's his "role". Seems like that's exactly what Richardson was brought here to do. Maybe Brunson overlaps with Luka because Richardson probably won't play Luka minutes.

They barely play together. Brunson + Luka had a positive net rating +2.6 in only 202 minutes!!!!

To put this into perspective, last minute man Trey Burke + Luka played 210 minutes together in the bubble, and they had a negative net rating of - 1.9

Okay... not bad. I hope Brunson stays at this rate.

One thing I like about Wood is that he's gotten two chances at regular playing time in the last two years, and both times he has shined.

Quote:Wood got his first real opportunity for NBA minutes with the Pelicans at the end of last year while Anthony Davis sat out amid his trade demand. He responded by playing like ... a rough facsimile of Anthony Davis. Even though it was only an eight-game stretch at the end of the season, Wood averaged 17 points and eight rebounds in 23 minutes per night. He’s carried that with him to Detroit.

Hornets guard has 2 years left on his contract. The Los Angeles Clippers have explored a deal for Hornets guard Terry Rozier, as reported by Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix.

Rozier signed with Charlotte last offseason and has 2 years left on his contract, at approximately $17M per season.

Simmons: And now Marc Stein reported that the league is investigating this Kings-Bucks aborted sign and trade that has turned into a complete fiasco and has led them to say ‘Hey wait a second Free Agency is coming can you guys not do these deals? Especially with Restricted Free Agents before free agency actually start.' Now Bogdanovic has a team. He’s not going to the Bucks. He’s going elsewhere…but are we gonna be delayed here for 24-48 hours? What’s your take?
KOC: Well I think we’re gonna get some type of delay with Bogdonovic and like you say it won’t be the Bucks…I’m not sure who it will be and ya know it’s a shame for him that this happened the way it did and that deal blew up however it did with some sorta leak or whatever because that was spreading like wildfire that night. Everybody was talking about it.
Simmons: [Skeptical Voice] Is it a shame? Is it a shame?! Orrrr….
KOC: I mean it’s a shame for him. For him as a person I think it’s a shame. For everybody else involved? I mean not really…
Simmons: But is it a shame for him? Or did they tell him he’d make a certain amount of money and then there was another team that actually said ‘Hey we’ll give you this amount of money’ and his agents were like ‘Hey wait a second he can make way more money over there.’
KOC: My understanding is originally the concept of the sign and trade between the Bucks and the Kings which was just a concept discussed would have involved Eric Bledsoe. Which would have allowed Bogdanovic to get more money, more comparable to what he would have received had he stayed with the Kings or had he signed with the Hawks. But instead, once they traded Bledsoe and once they also traded first round draft picks, suddenly, they weren’t able to give as much money and that deal blew up before there was actually some sort of an agreement with the player and the Kings. So something happened here with somebody jumping the gun, probably one of the teams and it just blew up in their face….Have you heard anything about that? How this happened? Why did this happen? Where this leaked from?
Simmons: I think there was a bait-and-switch at some point and at some point Bogdonovic wasn’t making as much money as maybe the people who were facilitating the deal for him thought he was gonna make.
Josh Green is a top 5 Mavs player...
