DAL OFFSEASON: Trade & FA | Mavs "mostly done...but you never know."
Does Dinwiddie make Brunson expendable?

A player that doesn't have an outside shot and sucks at D is not a "bonafide rotational player" to me. Sorry.

So, if, for example, Derozan was on the Mavs at $12 mil a year, you'd be mad. Got it.

Yeah, I've been really worried about this. He put so much work into the draft thread.

That's what I said above.

I don't think so, but maybe.

Part of me really feels like Carlisle's take away from the season was that he didn't have a starting PG on his team. I don't think that necessarily has much to do with Brunson.

Donnie & Cubes just don't look at the draft the way Kamm or some GM's will look at it.

Bingo.  Was gonna post the same thing.

Well, it's not over yet.

Might be 100% made up.

Might be a done deal, but contingent on a certain player being there at 18.

...and anything in between.

I'm hoping with you @"Kammrath"

A 6'6" JJB????

A player that big who has mastered the pick and roll game to the extent Barea has would be a GREAT get, imo.

You guys are both vouching for this comp?

Nets don't have a 1st round pick but bring in guys to work out in the same range as Dallas (18).  Hmmm.

Edit, Nevermind - I didn't see the other pick.

I don't think DeRozan is a winning player. He has literally ONE season in his whole ten year career of being a net positive for his team. I would NOT want DeRozan period.

I am fine with taking a risk on Dinwiddie to try to develop his D and shot....but not for #18.

We have one 6'6" JJB already. Why not another!

I wouldn't trust the Dinwiddle stuff. it's been reported from all these "sources" guys that aren't reliable and not mentioned by any sort of someone we can actually trust.

That legion hoops had a couple of "scoops" in the past. But way more misses on things that he was saying would get done or were being discussed. He may actually have some type of connection and we do know his actual name compared to the hawks guy ha.

I'm sure Dinwiddle has been discussed. He's on the block and the Mavs are looking to move guys. 18 tho? Come on now. He's an inefficient chucker from everything I can tell. You can get the best version of that with Lemon Pepper Lou who is actually somewhat efficient

Doesn't sound like it is only the Mavs that has been in the discussion.
And maybe even the Nets are using Mavs name to up his value from another bidder.

It just hit me (and I'm pretty sure Fif alluded to it)... if a guy who can't hit an outside shot (if a low 30s percentage from 3 = "can't hit an outside shot") and sucks at D isn't a rotation player, then I know a guy who fits both criteria who wants to have a little Matt-Dillon-from-My-Bodyguard chat with you.

I would rather have Prince over Dinwiddie. Nets need picks for a Harden trade.

Brooklyn: Harden
Dallas: Prince and Tucker
Houston: LeVert, Dinwiddie, Wright, Jackson, 18, 19, 31, 55 and 4 future Brooklyn 1st with pick swaps

Could even involve a 4th team to take Dinwiddie for picks

Kyrie
Harden
Durant
Allen
DeAndre

That still doesn't get it done for Houston. They want someone who can be a star. Levert just isn't that guy. Pick 18 isn't that guy. And a bunch of crappy Brooklyn 1sts doesn't get you excited. They've given every indication neither guy is just getting dumped and they can just deal with it.

I generally agree with the sentiment, and Houston can maybe/probably get a better packages, but those Brooklyn future 1sts and pick swaps might not be so crappy ... because there is absolutely no way KD, Kryie and Harden are staying together beyond 2 seasons before that thing implodes.

Are you sure those picks will be crappy? With "flatearther" Irving, "just tore my achilles" Durant and "my teammates are to blame for everything" Harden.

I am certain Harden will be traded. It makes no sense to keep him. Perhaps it will last a week, a month or even a couple of months, but he will be traded. Same thing as Kawhi from SA or Butler from Minny.
