DAL OFFSEASON: Trade & FA | Mavs "mostly done...but you never know."

What were Butler's realistic expectations when he went to Min?

MIN gave up the #5 pick from the previous year Kris Dunn, the #7 pick from that year Lauri Markannen, and Zach Lavine.

In this trade, the Suns beat guy is saying the Suns dont even want to give up the #10 pick in a weak draft.  So at most they'd be giving up one #10 pick.

It might not work but Phoenix isn't giving up a ton to try.

Yet he went to a team that was ready to hear what he had to say and look what happened? Are the Suns that team for Paul? Maybe, maybe not.

A large chunk of the angst, however, stems from a lack of accountability, sources said. During the January locker room meeting following a home loss to Portland, Westbrook, who was leading the meeting, went around the room indicating what was wrong and what each player needed to do to fix the losing streak, starting with himself, sources said. When it came to Harden, however, he wasn’t as receptive to criticism as other teammates, sources said.

Former teammates have described the culture in Houston as problematic, sources said, highlighting a situation that caters far too much to its stars. One example cited was the case of Trevor Ariza, who left the team in 2018 in search of more money, but also more respect, sources said. The Rockets attempted to bring him back down the line but Ariza, sources said, was seeking an apology that never came. Former teammates also questioned why players like Clint Capela and Chris Paul were traded, according to sources. There have also been complaints about the team’s style of play, both from former and current players on the team, sources said. Game 7 of the 2018 Western Conference Finals was the highlight of such complaints, with the team missing 27 straight 3-pointers and not adjusting or incorporating any other offensive strategy, sources said.

Right, and just last year, Hou had to give up 2 firsts and the rights to pick swap 2 more firsts (on top of having to take on RW) just to get rid of him. Pho shouldn't be giving up anything really. Honestly, OKC should be paying someone to take him as well (not as much since he did prove he has the possibility to help turn a franchise around last year), since that contract is still the same as last year.

Is this for me, or are you finally ready to embrace the Euro backcourt of the future?

See, the thing about being truly prepared for the Rubio trade is that if it doesn't happen, crow will taste GOOD!

That's the whole point of the #beprepared campaign. That's my entire platform.

I'd eat 15 plates of dead, uncooked crow to get the 10th pick instead, trust me.

It's not though.

It's a two year deal for a guy coming off 2nd team All-NBA.

Last year, it was a three year deal for a guy that looked like his career was winding down.

Plus Fertitta and his son are morons.  That deal was driven by Harden and the owner.  No way any real GM gives up all those picks to trade CP3 for Westbrick.

You can go back to last year's offseason thread on this forum.  I even said CP3 would probably be the Mavs 2nd best player ahead of KP if we were to trade for him.  I was big on CP3 last offseason.  He just had one too many years on his contract for my liking.  Like Killerleft, I think CP3 might be one of the most underrated players in NBA history.  Just because he didnt get along with goofballs Blake and DAJ and then Harden couldn't handle his criticism never once changed my opinion of him.
