Watching that latest Instagram video of Luka and Dwight Powell (btw, kudos to the message! It urgently must be spread) I can´t help but be very very concerned with the shape Luka´s going to be in after this lockdown. With no workouts and no games he´ll be adding weight like crazy.

He worked out a lot in the off season and came better than in 1st season. Why would he not work out again in this off season as well?
But you are absolutely right. He is not a physical freak like LeBron. That is what might keeep him away from being the best all time. his IQ and feel for game certainly is among the best we have seen. His shooting can improve we all know that.

He needs to keep working out in off season like the last. And practice mid and long range shooting. And free throws.

he is expected to get a lot better like most very young players with a lot of playing time.

He needs to bring his floater back. it was very effective in 1st season. Then he found out that driving to the basket is even more effective. However, there have been situations with some great blockers where the floater would have been great and could get these blockers out from the rim area.

Also we saw ton of trickery ala Larry Bird style from Luka in his 1st season. There has been less trickery in 2nd season. I wonder why? That makes him very unpredictable. I think his second season he realised how great he is driving to the basket and kept doing that. But he needs not forget about the tricks he has, floaters, and also work on the mid range game.

if he works on shooting and his body, brings back his floaters and trickery, he might en up being one the best of all time. Improving muscles will help him play better defense. Lately he has improved a lot on the defensive end.

If Luka never got the slightest bit better in any way and just managed to play 8 more seasons he'd already be one of the best to ever play easily just by having the same stats he did this year for a decade straight.

I agree with the things you mentioned he needs to get better at as well as his on ball and help side defense. He's plenty athletic to become one of the best to ever play this game though.

Luka should get first team, which is just an incredible leap from last year.

In the latest Lowe Post episode both Zach Lowe and Coach Thorpe agree that Luka should and will be the Most Improved Player of the year. Overall a nice listen. Check it out!

Seems like they could do better but if Luka likes it, then fine with me.

  1. Luka DoncicLow-key feels like a funny description for anything related to Doncic, because the story of his early career is best told in bolded, all-caps text. He had a rookie season for the ages, and he has followed it up with another round of historic production. He went from a great freshman to a great player overnight, and he helped turn the Dallas Mavericks into a playoff team with an all-time great offense. This is only the 12th time in league history that a player has boasted a 36-plus usage percentage across at least 30 minutes per outing. Doncic has met that massive challenge with the NBA's fourth-highest PER and sixth-best BPM this season."He's already showing he's one of the best and he's only [21] years old and he's putting up the numbers like, it seems crazy to say it, but the next Michael Jordan," fellow Slovenian Goran Dragic told NBA.com's Sekou Smith.
