Extended family (the home invasion happened over the holidays). You and your little sister are now all that's left, but you'll never see her again because she has been sold into the sex trafficking world.

...that's what drafting Mara tonight would feel like to me.

I hear you, but give me Ament and I'd be just fine, thanks.

Thanks for spoiling the plot of the next Home Alone movie.

(I'd be pretty upset if they drafted him too not going to lie)

I wouldn't panic over Mara or Ament. May has a rep for developing players and fricken' coached one of them. If he thinks Mara is the guy, go for it. If not, then maybe the haters are right. If I was a team picking after the Mavs, and they DIDN'T pick Mara, then I'd be concerned.

I predict that Mara will move better at 30 than Shawn Bradley does.

The draft is one of the NBA’s busiest transaction periods, rivaling February’s trade deadline and July’s free agency. Will the league’s transactions look noticeably different on draft day in light of what’s coming? “I think superstars, teams are always going to trade first-round picks,” ESPN’s Bobby Marks told Front Office Sports. “I think the protection that has changed, you can’t protect a top-14 pick and the nuances with that. I think there’s a little bit of uncertainty when it comes to trading second-round picks just based on its inverse order, so there’s the unknown on where it lands. I think there is a little bit of hesitation here as far as just because we haven’t gone through it yet as far as where potential picks can be.”

I don't think I've seen Flemings name mentioned once today. About anything.

That's a pretty low bar...

“I believe that Dallas, if it stays at No. 9, takes Ament.”

— Jake Fischer on the Dallas Mavericks

Jake Fischer on the Mavs 30th pick:

“I believe that Dallas, if it retains the No. 30 overall pick, will give strong consideration to Cincinnati senior swingman Baba Miller with that selection.”

Not crazy about his first prediction.

I'm OK with the second one though.

BREAKING: Sources tell me and ESPN that Dallas is focused on selecting Aday Mara tonight at #9. Coach Dusty May is targeting his guy and appears lasered in on a triple towers lineup with Lively, Gafford, and Mara.

Well done. I have to admit...you had me until I read the emboldened portion a 2nd time. I was in the midst of crafting a scathing and yet sympathy eliciting post that I had to delete.

At first I thought you were just being your usual contrarian self, but...this is next level dark. Respect.

I do believe Milwaukee has tried to package Nos. 10 and 13 to move up in tonight's first round, but I don't believe there's going to be any trades in the top-10.

Sources say the Bucks, at this point, plan to keep Kel'el Ware, despite interest from rival teams like the Lakers.

Milwaukee coveted Ware and Kasparas Jakučionis in their recent drafts. The Bucks also value Tyler Herro, sources say, and don't necessarily plan to move him, while Milwaukee will field offers for the All-Star scorer.

This could really be about Milwaukee and gamesmanship. Wouldn't surprise me at all.

But, for the record, if it means no Mara I'm on board.
