Trade & Free Agency 2026/2027

I also would be a fan. Would be an ideal backup 4 for Coop.

His contract is a big risk though. If he remains the current level of player right now, he's a bigger burden than Martin.

If we could shed Martin and Klay for Jovic I'd be interested.

The Miami Heat are now potentially looking to trade Nikola Jović, per @TheSteinLine & @JakeLFischer

“It has also been suggested that Miami could look now to move Nikola Jović to try to acquire some shooting to help space the floor for Antetokounmpo and his new frontcourt

I just looked it up and Jovic hasn’t played more than 47 games in any of his 4 seasons. I think I’m out on that 4 year $62M contract.

Do you think Middleton will get more than vet min?

Not a fan of that contract.  Not sure about fit with Flagg.

Dang, that’s a tough one.

Klay doesn’t seem to have a future here, but cap space is so incredibly valuable now, and overpays are such an albatross to roster-building.

They’d need to be really confident that Jovic can play up to his contract, or at least be movable as a net neutral piece.

Maybe a little more, but only on a one- or two-year deal.

I agree that Klay is unlikely for Miami. I could see them dumping Jovic to gain flexibility. I could also see them trading Wiggins for better shooter(s) and less money to again gain more flexibility for rest of the roster.

I corrected that post a bit ago when I realized I goofed.  I should stop messaging and trying to work at the same time lol!

The Boston Celtics are listening to trade offers for Jaylen Brown, per @ShamsCharania

Just a couple of years ago, they were the enduring dynasty that nobody could unseat.

Similar to what people are saying about OKC now.

The new CBA is pretty effective at generating parity.

That was the heat-of-the-moment, rah-rah take after winning the trophy. But even then BOS was looking at a HUGE tax problem, one of the reasons the "then" owner promptly sold and got out.

These ideas are imho embarassing. Since when is a top10 player in the league in his prime worth a couple of (non star) starters and a couple of mediocre picks. A true elite two way player.

In one trade they have Houston giving up Sengun and Thompson while the other has Atlanta giving up Kispert, NAW, Okongwu and #23 pick. Could the author not see the huge disparity in value between these two "offers"?

“Sources say that the Pistons indeed intend to add Powell, who is coming off his first All-Star season, to their list of potential offseason targets as they look to add shooting and playmaking in support of star guard Cade Cunningham.”

That would be a great get for Detroit

To be fair, I think this is more about an attitude concern than cap issues.  If they had managed to land Giannis, that team would have been a favorite for years.

These trade proposals are terrible, but I don't think Brown is a top 10 player in the league.

He was voted as #5 in MVP Smile He was also the finals MVP 3 years ago. Giannis and Ant didn't make the games criteria, Tatum basically didn't play. Who else is better?

I'm not talking about a single season.  Just as a player overall he is not an elite creator and not an elite defender.  He put up some really big numbers this last season, but his team was actually better when he was off the court.  Even if you look at just box score stats, his BPM/VORP wasn't in the top 20 last season.

Mark Cuban said he was Boston’s best player.
