Jimmy Butler Watch

Unless Jimmy really wants to take a paycut, I just can't see the Mavs angle.

Suns guy who is locked into their team

Some of the rumbling I have heard are that Memphis and Milwaukee are teams having ongoing discussions about a trade for Jimmy Butler. Miami weighing if it is better to trade him now or in offseason via sign and trade.

More from Gambo

As for Beal the no-trade looms large. He could have went to Milwaukee before he ended up in Phoenix but that was turned down. Have heard he would waive no trade for LA, Miami, Denver but I do believe there are a few others that he could ultimately decide work for him.

Even more from Gambo

Lots of talk about Detroit being a 3rd team for Beal. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me as to why they would want him but have to do some more digging. They have cap space but young team on the rise so unless heavily incentivized no real reason. Still need to do more work on that

Keep Jimmy out of the West, please.

I want no part of a motivated Jimmy in a 7 game series. Milwaukee sounds like a good spot. Listen Pat Riley, you dont want that Bobby Portis guy. Send him to Dallas and we'll give you Maxi Kleber.

I think this is a redditor comments: Possible? If so, this isn't a win now package for MIL. Would you have any interest in any of the players going to MIA in this situation?

Being a second-apron team, the Bucks cannot aggregate salaries to acquire Butler.

HOWEVER, they can combine salaries to grab Butler and move out of the first apron. The Bucks would need to only acquire Butler and send out $55.3M in salaries to make this happen.

A second-apron team is allowed to aggregate salaries ONLY IF the trade effectively moves them out of the second apron.

Hard to imagine they could do it, but it is technically possible.

Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis, and Pat Connaughton gets you to $53.6M in total. The magic number for Butler and MIL would be $55.3M to dip below the second apron.

Throw in MarJon Beauchamp as an outgoing salary and you got yourself a scenario where Butler to MIL can happen.

IMO (not looking at specifics ATM) that seems to come up short in that Milwaukee would have to replace at least 2-3 aggregated players...
That would move the magic number for Milwaukee closer to $58 million in order to stay under the 2nd Apron. Again I am not sitting on specific salary sheets just looking at it from afar.

That would absolutely destroy their depth. Would be fascinating to see though. I think Middleton has been playing pretty well again since he’s been back.

I still think that the trade which makes the most sense for everyone, teams and players both, is Butler to the Suns and Beal to the Heat. The Suns maybe add a pick. Beal is overpaid, sure... but he is 31 while Butler is 35 and will also be wanting a very high salary extension.

Heat - Herro, Beal, Jaquez, Jovic, Adebayo.
Suns - Tyus, Booker, Butler, KD, Nurkic.

The Heat absorbing Bradley Beal’s contract is a “non-starter” in trade negotiations with the Suns for Jimmy Butler, per @ShamsCharania
.

For Phoenix to acquire Butler, they will need to find another team prepared to take on Beal’s remaining $161 million salary through 2026-27.

The Pelicans are a team to monitor as a potential facilitator in a Jimmy Butler trade.

New Orleans has been looking around for trades involving Brandon Ingram, and the Heat might be interested with Butler’s looming exit.

Ingram would join Miami, while Butler lands elsewhere.

So aggregating the rumors, Butler prefers the Bucks, Mavs, Suns, Rockets, and GSW.

Only the bucks are really desperate enough for him and have the contracts.

Unless New Orleans and Beal are somehow into each other.

so chris haynes is saying Butler or his camp have told a few teams including Memphis that Butler has no interest in going to those teams. This is going to be fascinating to see how this ends up.

Can’t find the tweet I saw but apparently Beal only will waive his NTC if it’s the Clippers, Heat, Lakers, or Nuggets.

Pretty much kills ANY deal.

Just found it:

@esidery
Bradley Beal would be willing to waive his no-trade clause with the Suns to join the Clippers, Heat, Lakers or Nuggets, per @Gambo987.

The Suns are actively trying to trade for Jimmy Butler, which would involve Beal being shipped out.

Lot of rumblings that the Milwaukee Bucks have also been informed not to trade for Jimmy Butler.

@ChrisBHaynes reported earlier the Memphis Grizzlies were told not to. That’s now two playoff teams Butler could be refusing.

So…does Pat Riley give Jimmy what he wants?

Jimmy is trying to force his way to a certain team. Maybe a certain few.

I'm willing to bet its Phoenix  with them finding a 3rd team for Beal. Or Golden State

There is no way it can be Dallas right? Like not even possible, right?

"Jimmy Butler isn't going to extend with any team. And so, because teams know that, they're offering the Heat right now the poo-poo platter. There's only one team that is ready to pay Jimmy Butler exactly what he wants, and that's the Phoenix Suns."
