Not sure I've ever heard a player say that he'd prefer to be traded to a bad team with little-to-no chance of competing!

Apparently it's out there that he named Dallas, Houston and GS, specifically. I don't think for a second he ends up here, for all the reasons FGump mentioned the other day, but it's interesting.

If you want to further the conspiracy, Butler loves to mess with his hairstyles every year. Last year he wore an emo outfit and straightened his hair. Another year he had super long dreads etc.

This year he did nothing. BUT! He has since dyed his hair different colors on 3 separate occasions. One night it was golden yellow. Another night, red. And the 3rd time a royal blue.

Yellow=GSW
Red=HOU
Blue=DAL

Of course I'm really stretching it here but I wouldn't put it past Butler to do this to anger the Heat front office.

@TheDunkCentral
The Miami Heat are not concerned about the possibility of losing Jimmy Butler in free agency, per @flasportsbuzz

“Nevertheless, a source with direct knowledge has said the Heat is not concerned about the possibility of losing Butler in free agency if it comes to that, partly because there’s no contender with the cap space to sign Butler outright without the Heat’s help in a sign-and-trade. If Butler simply signed elsewhere next summer without the Heat’s help, Miami would have modest cap space, not nearly enough to replace him with a similar player.”

The Heat are open to listening to offers for Butler and making a deal if the proposal is right. Butler's agent has indicated in league circles that Butler is open to destinations such as two of the Texas teams (Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks) and the Golden State Warriors.

(Pat dials Nico)
Nico: Hello?
Pat: Hey, Nico, how's it going? Say, our superstar Jimmy Butler wants to join your team.
Nico: Superstar?
Pat: Yeah. Anyway, we'd like to see what kind of package you could put together for him.
Nico (after a few minutes checking the spreadsheet): Well, his contract is kinda big, as I'm sure you're well aware. Any deal would have to include Klay, and we could go ahead and put Gafford in the deal with Maxi and Powell. Of course, we'd have to get a first back from you for including Gafford.
Pat (after laughing for about 30 seconds): No, really. Be serious. How about Dereck Lively?
Nico: How about no?
Pat: Well, then, Grimes has got to be in there.
Nico: Nope.
Pat (shrilly): Marshall and two unprotected firsts??!?!
Nico: Nah, we're good.
Pat: You'll never make a trade in this league again!! I'll see to it!
Nico: You do that, Pat. Have a nice day!

I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re indeed in on this. Drafting Lively and the Klay-signing were also rumored long before the moves were actually made. Maybe over the summer after Kyrie and Klay recruited him via SnT. He’d have to sacrifice some money but they might give him a longer deal to make up for that. DAL has plenty of solid contracts who could be aggregated to get to certain numbers financially.

And iirc Scotto also broke the Klay-interest first last year. He had the previous report a week ago or so about Butler being a target).

Seems impossible as an in season-move but could become a thing over the summer. Butler is still an absolute KILLER. It’s just we’ve reached a point with this roster where you have to really weigh your options and make sure you don’t break up something that works recklessly.

I think they’d all be mature enough to make it work but it certainly would be A LOT of mouths to feed. Butler has also spoken highly of Luka in the past.

If Houston isn’t pushing hard, it is tough to see a deep Butler market. Miami has been playing better recently too. Golden State is an option, but will they offer their A offer? Not sure.

I think the Lakers are interesting but not sure they have a very attractive offer for Miami. Does that even make the Lakers a contender either?

Cuban: Okay okay Pat. You win. Lively, Washington, Gafford and only to make the money work Klay for Butler and Larsson. I´ll send it to the NBA office. Any objections, Nico?
Nico: No no go ahead.
Cuban: Hello NBA Offices. I will send you a trade for approval.
NBA office: Sorry sir. You have no authority to complete that transaction.
Cuban: What do you mean?
NBA office: How do I explain this. You have children under 18?
Cuban: Yes.
NBA office: You know when they are not allowed to make certain decisions or have certain priviliges....
Cuban: Yes.
NBA office: ....cause their brains are not fully developed yet and they may harm themselves or others in the process....
Cuban: Yes.
NBA office: It´s kind  like that.
Cuban: But I have been making decisions for years.
NBA office: Sir, we have a note from Patrick Dumont and technically I should not be even talking to you.
Cuban: What you mean?
NBA office: Note says: Just hang up the phone. *clang*
Cuban: Hello. Hello.

The Phoenix Suns are another team that Jimmy Butler’s agent, Bernie Lee, has indicated in league circles that the six-time All-Star is open to as a destination while Miami listens to trade offers, sources tell ESPN, joining Dallas, Houston and Golden State.

Jimmy Butler's agent just went at Shams on twitter, hotly denying any rumors associated with Butler:

@BernieoLee
Alright listen. I gave you a pass yesterday because I was busy but if you don’t stop putting my name on your complete and utter made up bullshit because you know you normally arent worth my time to acknowledge. I don’t know what I’m going to do because I’m a middle aged dad but just know it would indicate severe dislike. World… all this is fabricated. I have never and honestly it wouldn’t help me or the position I represent to do anything that’s been reported by said “journalist”

Shams this is your opportunity to say my bad “I let chat GPT write my tweets and it went old school Peter Vescey..” (Shams Peter was a writer in the 90’s) be a trend setter.. invent the new I was hacked. Carry on all. Thank you.
