Kyrie Irving: we already named a city after him!
If I am not mistaken, if a third team enters the deal, Mavs must also make some transaction with them. Of course this could be limited to money exchange

In other words, Toronto, if you want to make a trade you got 2 hours to make it happen.

I dream for OG, but it ain't gonna happen. Toronto does have an intriguing guy like GTJR who I think could be swapped for THJ pretty easily given the contract situation. Although you have to ask does that make the Mavs any better in the short or long term?

Your newfound obsession with Cam Reddish is a bit confusing given that Cam hasn't shown himself to be even an average basketball player.

Seems like this would net something (tiny) TO the Mavs, yes, since it would be a rerouting of something the Mavs are giving to the third team? Or am I misunderstanding?

Also, I wonder if Morris actually ends up here...

I can't remember where I saw it (all these super threads run together) but I find it relieving that the trade call seems to be scheduled for this evening. I wasn't excited about this deal dragging out until Wednesday.

Yeah, public perception has finally plummeted past the point of no return on Simmons.

I just think it's reality. He's a loser who could care less about playing basketball. He actively avoids trying. Talk about a team cancer.

I'd take Kyrie over Ben 10 times out of 10.

Congrats to Dinwiddie and DFS. If the Nets can keep KD for now, those guys will actually be going to a better team with more talent on the roster than where they came from  Big Grin

So, now is the time to buy.

Package up all your bad contracts (McGee, Bertans) and git er done!

Ya, that was very well put in not putting any weight to any thought. Sums up Kyrie in a nutshell.

Cleveland and Boston have recovered quite nicely. If we can get that treatment from him and turn out like those 2 franchises, I'll be pretty happy.

People at Bleacher Report are all excited about this, but I think it's nothing new.

I mean Wood has no reason to sign it given the max that can be offered is two years. But the bottom line is the Mavs can offer him the most money in FA, and there's no doubt Wood is simply going to sign for the most money he can get given hes never had a long term contract. If we actually want to keep him it's totally in our hands IMO despite the way we've treated him particularly the Kidd disrespect to the media.

This was done publicly to show the mavs he’s serious. There was never going to be any one step back to take two steps forward. Luka wants to compete for championships RIGHT NOW. There won’t be any more waiting. Luka’s father and their recent reconnection IMO is driving this

There's a LOT of assumptions here. Luka IMO doesn't have the personality of a controlling Lebron type. He's wanted to win now since his rookie year because he came from winning at Real Madrid, that's nothing new. Also Luka himself has no power to force any type of move himself as a threat for at least a couple years yet. I also don't think he would because he's not the malcontent type who would do anything really drastic like some other US raised players would do like sitting out games in protest. It's not as much part of European culture to pull that kind of stunt like it is US culture.

True!

(At least for now.)

Cuban did step up financially.

(Although, I sure wish he had gone this route last spring or summer with Brunson. Oh well.)

Great point, DM!
