HALLELUKA: Luka Clinches All-NBA 1st team. 4th in 5 years

It was built on the back of beating poor teams.  Rockets 3 times, the T-Wolves, Lakers, Spurs, and the Knicks who were the best team record wise.

If it's so bad they had to x-ray it, then he should be out at least a month. The official tank begins.

I have a feeling the Mavs are going to rush Luka back and he is going to play halfway hobbled the rest of the season. It might get ugly if that is the case.

One of the guys at the top of my list would be Alex Caruso. He is the kind of player that would be incredible with Luka. Great defender and good offensive energy guy.
We didn't make the cut but thanks for all the support!

There is a reason for that. I have no idea why the Lakers let him walk. The dude is a baller.

The argument about whether Luka cares about his stats should be over as of tonight.

He clearly wants the scoring title. He left the last game he played in the 1st quarter and it tanked his scoring average. Then in the first game back he does this.

I disagree. 70% FG, that is not because he wants the scoring title.... Luka was so efficient that it was the way best option for the team to continue Luka scoring. If on the other side Lukas efficiency in this game was so low and despite that he still kept shooting, while the rest of the team was way more efficient - this would have been a different story then and one could say it is because Luka wanted the scoring title.

Luka will win the scoring title because he is just that good, not because he wants it and thus artificially gets it.

He is so good that it is tough not to take his brilliance for granted.    Although to nitpick, it is sort of felt deflating seeing Luka score 24 of the first 30 some points in the first quarter.    Dinwiddie was good the two games Luka was out but he was invisible in the first quarter.   Maybe one contested 3.    Dinwiddie was pretty bad for the first three quarters, but can we not involve him more when he is playing with Luka?   I just wonder if this is always the style we will play, regardless of who joins the team in the coming seasons.

I think the more players will have that can attack and create own baskets, at the moment that is Luka SD and CW, the more of these players we have the less efficient is it going to be to create double teams. Against Luka, SD, Wood whoever attacks at given moment. those players you cant leave any space. At the moment it is feasible perhaps to leave some space to DFS, Green, Powell.

SD great games lately did create the effect of enabling the single teams on Luka in this game when Luka is back. I think it has had an effect. At least to start the games. When Luka went off they started to double.

I think SD and Wood both deserve to be more involved. Especially in games when Luka is not 70% FG.

I really hope the team reaches a point in future with 5 starters of the quality as Luka, SD, CW. We are two players off that point. If we ever reach to that point, doubling Luka on any play is going to be the most inefficient strategy and it will become obsolete play in the oppopnents playbook. I think at that stage we will involve a lot more other players than Luka. I think this is exactly also what happed to Michael Jordan. First when he got the team around him that was good, doubling him became inneficient but interestingly at the same time his usage and stats also decreased, but his efficiency went even higher up, as well as the success of the team. I think we will see the same with Luka. I think we are one or two players off that stage. The 3&D players and those that are straight pure shooters and nothing else are a complete no-fit for this team. We need basketball players that can use the space in multitude of ways. Next to Luka, it is the SD's and the JB's that are a fit, players that can attack the rim and have a general sense for basketball and can shoot from outside and still attack and pass if needed.

I believe we are much closer than anyone believes. Even with one single signing if you replace a DFS, THJ etc. with one more caliber player like SD or CW, we are in championship race. With two more pieces, we will win it most of the seasons. The team will explode exponentially when we get one more skilled player in the starting lineup. Green to me looks like a terrific replacement for DFS and THJ, and he will become even better. He is still to raw to fill that super skilled role, but key to maintain chemistry, depth and balance going forward.

Teams don’t double Luka much in the first quarter so Luka rightfully roasts them for it. Dinwiddie’s presence and other 3point shooters make sure that can happen. Opposing coaches don’t want the Mavericks to get their 3 point game going so they make Luka scoring their choice of poisons.
