Too bad we don't hang banners for fun, Theo.

I love the chemistry of this team. Chemistry is huge if you are going to win. Look at the Warriors. Dallas had a great season and I'm super proud of this team. Great growth. I want to see them get into shape though. The Warriors were in the kind of shape it takes to play deep into the playoffs. The Mavs weren't.

I also look forward to seeing Luka grow up a little bit to get past the times when he gives up on the game not getting calls like tonight.

They need to add a starting 5 and some bench wings for depth. Brunson is the enigma for me at the moment. He's going to command big money. But, tonight he didn't have much of a showing.

Dinwiddie though was balling. I'm loving him and definitely want to see him stay.
We didn't make the cut but thanks for all the support!

You pay Brunson is he wants to stay.  You really have no choice and he can always be a trade piece.  And yeah he had a bad game, but his playoff run was really good.  He and Bullock are the non-Luka playoff MVPs.  Dinwiddie had a few great games but was largely disappointing throughout the playoffs.  I almost like what I saw from Bertans more.  Almost.

Good thoughts.  It always sucks to lose and have your season end and not play your best ball.  But I also liked what Dirk said earlier in the week about being grateful for this run.

I thought this team was behind my internal schedule. That may still be true, but they really exceeded my expectations this year.

I definitely don't let Brunson walk for nothing. I just don't know that he's a fit long term. He did have a good playoff run and I do think he's a winner. Ideally, I would like to keep him and add to the team.

I was pretty happy with Bertans. He did everything that KP did only better. He played the role the KP whined about playing very well. Dinwiddie is a keeper for me. I personally feel like if you put a guy like Gobert at the 5 and have Hardaway Jr, Luka, DFS, and Bullock fill out the starting 5 you could have something pretty special.

Dallas needs a starting 5 and a couple of depth wings.

Its funny people meme/making fun on Bertans, when he had the 2nd highest net rating in the Suns series, and the highest in the Warriors series.

I like his aggression a lot.  He sucks at defense and rebounding.  My biggest beef is that we don't run sets to get him clean looks.

He sucks as a rim protector and can be targeted on ball. As a team defender he actually suprised me. Good positioning. Smart rotations. Leading to solid impact numbers. Defense was 4.0 points better in the regular season. 2.1 points better in the playoffs. When he was on the floor.

Bertans surprised me in his ability to contribute in more ways than just shooting 3s. I kept seeing him make smart plays, and doing the little things. While I think his desirability will tend to be evaluated by his contract, rather than by his play, I think there's probably going to be a lot more value and upside in keeping him than including him in a trade. I'd like to see what impact he could have if the Mavs actually had some plays to give him open looks that are planned.

I'll say that Bertans surprised me in his ability to stay playable against good playoff teams. That's more than I can say for our last draft pick, at least. I suspect if he had played any more minutes than he did he would get exposed pretty quickly, so I think they used him correctly. If not for his contract he'd be a great 9th/10th man.
