Definitely would have been a good fit here but it also sounds like there's been mutual interest with Young and Phoenix and SAS is simply doing him a favor.

That is also a very good haul for him, imho

Interesting that Portland's play is to get cap room and go aggressive this summer.  Don't think they will be successful but they could create some unease with teams out there.   Don't think it would be wise to target Beal or Harden but that could be an option.   How would PHX react to a max offer for Ayton.   Zach Lavine is from the NW.  He probably stays out there but I wonder who Portland could be looking.

In the end, they probably miss out on all big names.   It would be a huge mistake to overpay for role players if that happened.    It will probably lead to a Dame trade if they miss out this summer imo.

Oh I agree, I just meant it the sense that it sounds like the Spurs are only chatting with Phoenix and if that doesn't work he's getting bought out.

I am not upset missing out on CJ or Powell.   I never saw a fit to get either here.   Expiring Roco as a roll of the dice may have interested me.    But don't know how we  could have gotten involved there.

I really like Josh Hart.  Love his toughness, rebounding.   Another tough Villanova guy.  Although difficult to see a way to get him here.

Big game hunting might be there only chance to keep Dame even if they are unlikely to land someone.  If they fail in that regard, they can complete the rebuild process by getting a haul for Dame.  I don't think they'll overpay role players and with that much cap space, they could be a dump partner for players like Wall, Harris or Westrook.

This is certainly one of possible options they could go. Although it looks like they are keeping Nurkic. Perhaps SnT with Phoenix? Tank hard this season to possibly get a top 4 pick. Sign young talent as Ayton and/or Bridges and you might get a good team around Lillard again.

If I'm Dragic, I'd spend every single day telling Trae how great Luka is until Trae loses it and I get waived.

Would he report to ATL?   He is better than Wright, at least he use to be.   I can't see him very excited going to ATL.

Would ATL move Gallinari just to get off his $5 guaranteed next year?   Seems like an odd fit, right?

Seems more like the Spurs are doing themselves a favour. Saric/Smith is a pretty damn good haul for an expiring veteran.

Again, I don't think that's a bad haul at all but there's conflicting reports that he may end up bought out which I would think that the Suns are balking at that price and know the Spurs will do right by him anyway.

Also, we are talking about a guy who just tore his ACL and another who has only made an appearance in the league thanks to covid.  I do think that's an offer we'd be able to outbid if we were interested (and he was interested for that matter).

Young has torn his ACL, too.

I´d rather have Saric than Young to be honest. I think he´s criminally underrated as a player and especially playmaker. Also seems to step it up in the play-offs, when called upon. Last three play-off appearances he raised his shooting levels for Efes in Europe, Philly and Phoenix to splits of

50/40/94
42/39/85
47/44/93

So anti-Kleberish. Cry

Being told that Mark Cuban is touting big acquisitions to come this month for the Mavericks, with Maxi Kleber’s probable return tonight and Kristaps Porzingis’s return after the all-star break. This is viewed as winning the deadline by Mark, according to sources familiar with the billionaire’s thinking.
