Pretty sure it was indigestion

Maybe it was something I watched or heard that triggered it or just thinking about the whole situation.

Miami and Lakers took themselves out of the running with the extensions. They don´t fancy their chances anymore imho.

Milwaukee still hasn´t gotten his signature until now and they have no real assets left to make any more moves. So it´s unlikely anything will change there.

Maybe it is all that in combination with Cuban denying that our off-season strategy had anything to do with capspace or Giannis. Usually Cuban can´t wait to run his mouth and suddenly he´s playing defense. Seems out of character.

I think the Raptors with Siakam/Ujiri are the real threat. They also have capspace. They have young talents in Siakam/FVV/Anunoby. They have the slightly better overall infrastructure package (city, coaching, GM).

I´d be SHOCKED, if he is not in Dallas, Toronto (or Milwaukee) in 12 months.

Maybe I can say this so comfortably, because I´m not scared of it not happening. I´ll enjoy the Mavs moving on swiftly to secure a Lavine, Isaac or Markkanen. I don´t share this scepticism that we´ll get nobody.
The way the Mavs have set themselves up really is entirely different than every previous version of Plan Powder. This team has multiple avenues to adding legitimate talent regardless of what Giannis does. Donnie and crew deserve a ton of credit for doing it the right way this time IMO...no how they stick the landing remains to be seen.

The more you look at it though...the more clear it is that there is no roster more perfectly set up for Giannis...and I don't think it's really all that close. Luka unlocks what may yet be the scariest part of the Greek Freak's game and something no opponent would want to see in heavy doses...Giannis the Roll Man. The combinations/variations surrounding just that one play with this roster is nightmare fuel opponents...especially when Rick is the one designing it all. And I don't think you can discount the fact that even when Luka rests, the Mavs have a guy in Brunson who could on track to develop into one of the best 2nd unit PGs in the league.

The collection of wing defenders (J Rich, DFS, Iwundu, Green, Bey...hell even Hinton) allow Giannis to be both on ball menace and weak side terror. Giannis doesn't have to do all the heavy lifting protecting the rim either with elite shot blockers in KP and Maxi.

This is a team that is constructed to win now and also...terrifyingly so if you are anything but a Mavs fan...take huge steps forward in the coming years.

He goes to Toronto, he is main guy with FVV, Siakam and Anunoby. He goes to Dallas, he is Lukas "sidekick". I think there were public statements from GA that indicate this is important to him.

You talk about ego, then you think 2 times MVP who is undoubtedly better than Luka right now, will not come because he thinks he is a sidekick?

And that without pointing out that he just said he has no problem being 2nd ir 3rd option if it means winning
Why would Giannis sign this extension? For an MVP the money will always be there, but the ability to leave will not if he signs.  All he has to do is play out this season and if the team sucks and is worse than last year he can have the choice to leave or stay.  If he leaves there is no more perfect situation than Dallas especially when you look at the age of the best players in the league.

Exactly!

Saying "it isn't really in his hands" seems to be pretty obvious he doesn't plan on signing it.
If the Bucks don’t take a step forward he’s out of there.

Everyone talks Miami and Toronto but no one on those rosters is even in the same stratosphere as Luka.

If he leaves Milwaukee this may just come down to how KP looks off the injury and if he can finish the season healthy.

Milwaukee stumbles...Luka takes Mavs past the first round....Giannis to Dallas....Dynasty.
I'm getting on board this hype train after he made the comments about him not caring if he's the best player on the team.

What are the chance the Bucks trade him if he doesn’t sign, won’t commit and they start the season good but not great?

They can’t afford to lose him for nothing next offseason, they would be completely stuffed for many years. Especially with having traded all of their picks.

Going to be a crazy season for the Bucks.

If they decide to blow it up.....

Wiggins, Wiseman, Paschall, Twolves 1st, a bunch of GSW 1sts.
Send Holiday to the Nets for Dinwiddie and LaVert.

Dinwiddie
LaVert
Wiggins
Middleton
