I´m stoked. What an awesome deal for the Mavs. No way we should have received a pick in a Curry-Rich deal. Overall J-Rich is the far, far, far superior player and we have seen Seth struggling everywhere outside of Dallas. So I would have love to keep him, but come on the Sixers must have been desperate.

Remember when Donnie helped Morey by signing Parsons...Donnie cashed in his IOU tonight...
The reason we got a pick is because Seth is signed for 3 years at a cheap deal.

Richardson is only signed for 1 year.

When are we cashing in that massive Ainge IOU?

I had forgotten - I argued a while back that the Mavs should trade Seth for Richardson and a pick, because the Sixers were over a barrel with needing shooting, and Doc would prod the front office to bring in his son-in-law, so the Mavs should milk *them* for a pick. I was ***ridiculed*** for this stance because Richardson was clearly the better player, so the Mavs would have to be the ones sending a pick.

Apologies accepted in advance.

I love this trade Mavs get a pick get younger and get a guy that can actually play both sides of the ball, Curry defense was bad real bad.
Unbelievable trade. Josh Richardson is an ideal fit next to Doncic. Couldn't draw it up better.
Big second initiator; tough All-NBA calibre defender; can shoot it. Just a fantastic trade.
On second glance, Richards numbers in Philly weren't as bad as I thought.

A look back one what he once was with Miami.

Haven't read the whole thread so forgive me if this is a repeat.

Had to get caught up on Josh Richardson, didn't know much about him. Looks like what Delon was supposed to be for us, but Josh seems to have the confidence to pull it off. He's a legit starter where as we wanted Delon to become a starter.

He also seems like our young, either poor man's, or potential Jrue Holiday...and we know the Mavs have coveted Jrue for a long time.

Great get!

I'll be surprised if Josh Richardson's shooting doesn't tick back up playing with Luka in Rick Carlisle's system.

I imagine it must kinda suck for a 3 point shoother sharing a backcourt with Ben Simmons when the perimeter defenders know there is absolutely no way he is going to shoot it and can key and shade on your for the close out.

JJ Reddick's 2018-2019 season in Philly it was the only season out of the last 6 where he shot 3s below 40%.

J Rich is much better than Delon. I love this trade. J Rich could be a guy that's a long-term fit next to Luka in the back court. Mavs also get him at only 27 years old with bird rights in 2021. Curry is great but Terry might be a long-term replacement and getting a starting SG is more of a need.

Just this Rich for Curry trade alone really shored up the starting lineup heading into the season.
This is the move that really signals that we are trying to improve our defense. Richardson won't replace Curry's shooting but should be a serious defensive upgrade. Bey might be my favorite pick of the rookie lot.
