TRADE: Curry to PHI | Richardson + #36 [Tyler Bey, 6'7", 7'1.25" WS] to DAL
#81
I’ve got Burke coming back to replace Curry unless we sign someone spectacular, Bogdonovic?

Coach C clearly favored Burke to Wright in the playoffs. Wright may be a trade candidate. If anything, his contract can be traded with a pick if we want to get into the GA sweepstakes.

Terry is an interesting draft pick. I’m not willing to pencil him into seth’s spot as a rookie, which is why I favor Burke, but maybe he’s a contributor Fast, like Brunson.

We need bodies to throw at Kawhi and Lebron, Finney and Maxi are great, but when they are on islands there is only so much they can do. Richardson makes them a defensive 3 some. Add Brunson when healthy. And add the two rookie’s, Bay and Green. Now we have depth.

Powell hopefully returns healthy and Boban is a fun gimmicky player, but we may get still need a big man. Splitting the MLE between Burke and a big isn’t a bad way to end FA if we can maintain flexibility for GA.

Hey, Tony T, weren't you the expert that told us Chandler Parsons knee was going to be okay? Just poking fun!

Any predictions on KP's knee(s)?  Big Grin

I have been hearing that for awhile now. Sorry y'all, Brunson (knock on wood) is part of the core!!

But seriously, he's a way better all around player and younger than Seth "Starter" Curry. It is a no-brainer.

Lol. ? Honestly I don’t remember.

I had high hopes for Parsons.  Remember that 10 games where he was bad ass? Sheesh. If that was a bet, I would have lost a lot of money.

I wouldn’t bet anything on KP’s health. So no predictions from me. Just hoping that it works out for him. I’m not saying I think Cuban made a mistake, I don’t think he did, but I’ll just wait and see on that.

thanks for asking!

I'm stoked to have J-Rich on the squad. I've admired his versatility from his Miami days and think he will add some desperately needed intangibles. Plus he makes Delon all the more disposable, which is necessary after his collapse down the stretch last year.

Seth's a great dude and a tremendous 3 point shooter but his injury history does give me a little cause for concern. Overall I think this trade works out well for both teams but the fact that we got a pick on top leads me to think we might have gotten the better of Morey

He is a PLUS on/off court for the last three years.....the only metric that really matters IMO at the end of the day.

And he was killer on open 3's the year before in Miami (where he actually got open 3's).

Hopefully he reverts back to Miami Josh. Philly Josh sucked.

I'd hold out judging the Sixer players from last season.   The team had a down season, the coach was already one foot out of the door, their playmaker Simmons was out for a major part of the season and the pandemic killed their home court advantage.

An effect was seen on Josh Richardson and on Tobias Harris where they looked like significantly worse players struggling to play in a new all big system.  Butler a key piece was gone and essentially that team was in flux trying to go all big and then add in the pandemic too.   Even Al Horford whose performance dropped badly might look improved post Brett Brown Sixers.

Josh Richardson is a good player, not as offensively skilled as Seth but really no slouch there and a much grittier tougher wing defender.
The Mavericks will be bigger and tougher on the wings with Richardson and all the way around with these acquisitions.

Bey is who I'm most excited about. Green's athleticism on defense seems impressive but it just doesn't pop on the offensive end for me.

If you think about it from Morey’s perspective, he HAD to get a shooter. He just got an elite one. He had to pay up for Seth w the 36 pick, but Philly is probably pretty happy with the deal too.

Like you said both teams got something they needed.

I'll be surprised if Josh Richardson's shooting doesn't tick back up playing with Luka in Rick Carlisle's system.
