I’m fine with getting Noel, I just am not so sure he is much of a prize.

To be frank, I think Noel is absolutely worth a shot. Kidd doesn't have to give him a footlong rope. Just play him a few minutes early on in the Powell role and see if he's got that dog in him. Even when Maxi gets back all of our bigs are weenies on the boards. If Noel can pull down a few rebounds and block the occasional shot he would fit like pigs in a blanket. Could be a real banger of a signing.

They better get him soon. Any buyout player has to be signed by March 1st to be eligible for the playoffs.
I like what Noel might be able to do. Holliday and Noel would be really interesting additions.

The Mavs not targeting a big in buyout suggests that they hope that McGee continues to play well - or that Wood might get more time than expected.

Or maybe the Mavs won a game of chicken for once?
Funny trying to pick out his Mavs teammates in the highlights

The beginning of the video had Nerlens and Earl K. Sneed -- two guys who didn't understand that they should keep their "hotdogs" and workplace separate.

No.

To be playoff-eligible, a player can't be WAIVED (date of waiver request) after March 1. He can be signed anytime.
noel would be a great signing for us, a solid defensive presence that is much needed. not sure who is to be cut to make space for him though, Morris most likely.
I am not sure if Noel can still play or if he is better than what we already have.  But his skillset is one of the things that would really help us...at least for short stretches.

I am not sure if we would be the best fit for him or who I would release to make the move, but we are not a serious threat with our current front court players.  Does Noel change that?  Probably not, but at least it is another role of the dice.

I would say the Mavs were generally right on Goran.  He would have certainly helped earlier in the season when our offense looked like paint drying.  Although in time we would have been looking for an upgrade there.

Maybe Miami as a spot player?   This may be his last run as an NBA player though.
I'd cut Dwight, Frank and Theo and add Noel, Dragic and Hernangomez so fast if I was GM lmfaoooooooooooooooooo
Two of Luka's buddies and one guy who is a better option that McGee

Might be a chance they get Dragic and Hernangomez simply because of the Doncic connection. As usual the correct answer is: They are probably completely washed and done, but they are not worse than what we have. Undecided

Noel (28) and Hernangomez (29) aren´t even that old. At least they still have another contract to play for unlike McGee, who retired six months ago.

Lol
Out of all of the guys who have been bought out, or were rumored to be, Noel is the guy I wanted the most.  Still young, and BEYOND hungry.  His defensive ability is exactly what this team needs.  He is an excellent rim defender, has active hands and live feet.  He was a beast in his last opportunity at major minutes as the anchor to Thibs D in NY two seasons ago, with 2.2 blk, 1.1 stl.  On offense, he is probably a better vertical threat than Powell at this point.

I love that we got Holiday (over Ross), because this team NEEDS defense.  Please add Noel!  This would be the best buyout season that I can think of in recent history.  These guys are hungry, talented, and athletic!
Does picking someone up later in the season count as a year towards bird/early bird rights?  Just curious if Noel signs here, then does a 1 year next season if we would have early bird rights on him for the following season.  I am pretty sure that they just have to play for a part of the season to count as one of the 2 years for early bird rights.  Noel has the potential to be an excellent "fallen angel" reclamation project here.
Dragic cut...a Goran/Noel combo plugs a lot of holes
Can you imagine we cut Frank/Morris/Theo and took Stanley Johnson/Noel/Dragic ..suddenly the depth would look great..
