6. Danny Green, SG, Houston: Memphis moved on from Green when the chance came to upgrade to Luke Kennard, but he still could have value for a contending team looking for some 3-and-D minutes on the wing. One wonders if his former employers in Philly or L.A. would have interest in a reunion.

16. Will Barton, SG, Washington: Well, it looks like the Nuggets cashed in their Barton stock at the right time. The 32-year-old has struggled in D.C., shooting just 39.5 percent inside the arc in 40 games and gradually falling out of the mix — he’s only played more than 10 minutes in a game three times since Christmas. As with Rose above, he could be the answer for a team needing another shot creator, especially since he’s more credible as a wing defender than Rose.
Green will be recovering (from not a very high place) from his ACL injury for the rest of the year and playoffs. No interest in that temptation for Kidd.
Defense, size, 3-point shooting, and a Duffy client. Seems like an obvious Mavs target.

The Suns just sent out their top three wings in a trade.  There is a lot of playing time opportunity there.

He's a young, former top-10 draft pick that couldn't find playing time on a horrible Spurs team. I doubt there's much value in bringing him here. He's also a pretty bad 3-pt shooter for his career, with this year being an outlier in a limited sample size.

Phoenix has old man Paul who is getting older by the minute and ill-fitting Ayton, with no 5th starter and less than no bench. Booker and KD can only do so much.

You could say the same for Kai and Luka. Both teams have flaws even with 4 of the best players in the league.  No difference.
just reported Danny Green is going to Cleveland after he's bought out.

There's truth to all of this but it's the buyout market, everyone available is going to have really obvious issues to them.

Every name that gets brought up should basically be a question of "would I rather see this player or Theo Pinson play the role of last wing off the bench for 10 minutes".  I personally would take Stanley over Theo in a heartbeat.

Which is why I said I lump them all together. I gave the reason for knocking down the 2 that were listed higher.

This is my new favorite.

Johnson's underwhelming nature has come mainly from expectations. He was picked high and the teams who have wanted him have always wanted him to be more.

But here, as a 5th wing off the bench looking for defense and spot up shooting should play exactly into his strengths. I hope the Mavs can pick him up.
Would also add that Spurs fans on reddit say that Johnson was contributing plenty and just doesn't have room on a tanking team.  He would be absolutely perfect for what we need.

There goes another one. Why does nobody want to sign here? Reminds me of the FA market a few years back.
Best player ever to build suspense as a borderline rotation player???

I’ll take Stanley for sure

Question is, what’s not done?

His recovery from the ACL tear?

His dinner?

His contract buyout?

His dog’s incessant barking?

His ability to deceive people into thinking that he’s a player they want?

Could be all of the above
Players like Green and Beverley just steal money on the off chance they have enough in the tank to make a play or two in the playoffs.
Stanley Johnson is still young and is having a strangely good year as a very low minute but fairly regular player. Maybe Pop found a way to use him effectively that we could emulate. Might be worth a shot as more than a one year add.
