Or BOTH are to push BOS up in an offer or extension?

Yep. There is also THAT.

I thought about the Indiana rumors while we were discussing this earlier.

What if it is a 3-way.  Turner and Wright go to Boston (and they save $7.6mm plus the tax on that amount).  Hayward to Dallas and THJ to Indy and they get some draft compensation from Boston.  This puts Indy in position to move on from Dipo if there is a good deal out there.

BTW, 18 + 31 for 14 stands on its own two feet as a fair deal.  Boston doesn't need an extra pick, but Indy sure could use one (their only pick this draft is 54).  Maybe they get two out of 26, 30 and 31.  Boston keeps 18.  Now I just need to figure out how to turn 14 into Halliburton and I'm pretty happy.

The Indiana Pacers have reportedly floated shooting guard Victor Oladipo in trade talks with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer reported the news Wednesday but noted a deal is "unlikely" despite the initial discussions.

The Houston Rockets reportedly remain "100 percent committed" to building a championship contender around James Harden despite an offseason overhaul that brought in a new general manager, Rafael Stone, and head coach, Stephen Silas.

ESPN's Tim MacMahon explained Wednesday on The Woj Pod with Adrian Wojnarowski (via Real GM) the team isn't planning to alter the main pieces of the roster despite the other changes.

"What I can say is right now the Rockets are 100 percent committed to trying to cash in on James Harden's prime," MacMahon said. "They consider him the best player in the league, which you know... He's without question a perennial MVP candidate. That's just a simple fact. They're going to try to win a championship as long as he's at that level and as long as he's on board."

Ahead of Friday’s deadline between the NBA and National Basketball Players Association for either side to serve notice to terminate the collective bargaining agreement, NBPA executive director Michele Roberts told The Athletic that the union and players are continuing to review the league’s proposal to begin the 2020-21 season on Dec. 22 and that she does not expect any decision by the end of the week. “The union and the players are analyzing all of the information and will not be rushed,” Roberts told The Athletic. “We have requested and are receiving data from the parties involved and will work on a counterproposal as expeditiously as possible. I have absolutely no reason to believe that we will have a decision by Friday. I cannot and will not view Friday as a drop dead date.”

Please note their way out. "As long as HE is on board." But if you are Harden, slowly leaving your prime, are you sure you want to waste a couple of seasons in Houston? Where the owner is clearly not capable to compete with other owners as far as ability to spend goes. Unless all you care about are stats.

Sure, he can retire as one of the all time Houston great. But a chance of him getting a ring in Houston is close to zero. If he wants to leave, his trade value is highest now and Houston would be compensated the most.

I've had to try to catch up regarding the Townsend article, and read fast so may have missed stuff, did you guys talk about...

1. Players telling their agents that they want to play with Luka (not surprising, but awesome to hear)
2. The Mavs almost had Gallo at the trade deadline, but he decided he wanted to test free agency

Since free agency isn't going to be what Gallo thought, do he and the Mavs revisit their interest in each other?

Yep. We covered it all with pace and enthusiasm.

lol!

Definitely not all of them, but that's kind of where our discussion has ended up, yeah.

We'll probably go through another, completely different fever dream before anything really happens.

I got really excited yesterday about the potential fit of Hayward's style of play here. If healthy and confident he fits like a glove. But, after reflection, I'm definitely prepared to admit that there's a level of contractual commitment that makes sense, given all factors. Anything over that would certainly lessen my excitement.

[Windhorst] (Lakers)

There’s a deal out there for them for another guard. That would be interesting. I’ll see if they actually go forward with it. It’s a guard on the last year of his contract who was great last year for his team and that team may be looking to move him. That would be interesting.

I sure hope this isn't the Mavs/THJ. Danny Green and WHO??? What do they have that the Mavs could possibly want? Hell, I don't even want Green!

Not impossible. Schroeder comes to my mind first as Lakers need a playmaker when LeBron sits. Dinwiddie (PO in 2021) or Fournier (PO in 2020) could fit the description.

They have Kuzma and this years #28 pick as assets.

Schroeder. It's Schroeder. That makes a ton of sense, as I've heard several national guys connect him with the Lakers.

Thank God for you, sir. I was about to have a full on @"Scott41theMavs" style melt down.

The only way I support this is if it is about creating space for one of the free agents we have been talking about. But I don't know how the Lakers really help you accomplish that...?

DELON WRIIIIIGHT (we can dream right?).

Probably D. Rose given the salary-matching shenanigans.

I thought of Kuzma when I asked that and vomited. I forgot about #28 though. I guess if you REALLY like someone in the 25-30 range, like Tyler Bey, it could make some sense to do THJ for Green/#28. Not sure why the Lakers would do that though. Both players are on the last year of their deals, so the Lakers would really have to like THJ's shooting, and it's not like Green can't shoot at all.

They were smart and choose the only player not included in a trade on our board.  Although he may go to 7 someday...

I can almost guarantee he's talking about Schroeder though. I can't tell you how many times I've heard them connected. I should have thought of that immediately like @"omahen" did.
