LOL. Hey man, I may not be any good at this modding thing. I was trying to keep the thread about the potential boycott with the shotting as part of the conversation while not letting it become a flame war about the details of the shooting itself or a political discussion about BLM, or someting like that. It appears that instead, I took over the thread.

Just look at this example. Was there anywhere, that there will be no investigations, that culprints will not be punished if found guilty? So what is the justice Boston is demanding? I just don't understand. We are just coming back to the simple fact, that public judgment was done based on a media report, that perhaps didn't cover all the aspects or present all known events and now this public demands justice based on this judgement and not based on a judgement that would result from a proper legal process. In my opinion, that is not a responsible action from players and teams involved.

Bingo, and there you have put your finger on the overarching problem on a board like this.  The total division in the country is also represented among sports fans.  So much so, that pretty much any topic, aside from actual game action, is subject to extreme ideological differences.  I'm not sure what the solution is, except for a person to be able to say what they think, and for those who are on the other side, to accept that such person has the right to believe as they do.  If we cannot accept that, then we are at an impasse.

Yes, it's not clear to me what the people are asking this DA for.  Do they want the DA to charge people with crimes before an investigation is done?  Do they want the Wisconsin DOJ to denounce the police in advance of an investigation?  Doing so would bias any case against police officers and could be cause for a mistrial.  These people need to think strategically a bit before they do things like this.

the whole NBA playoffs are suspended indefinitely.

One could make the argument they've never should have happened to begin with.

The NBA forced the issue in a global pandemic. Once players began making demands for social justice, and that the NBA had to made concessions in order for any play to resume, any other racial injustice that occurred would've been the lit match thrown onto a powder keg the NBA readily accepted for. All for greed. 

The playoffs should be cancelled. Next season should resume as scheduled. This is what should have been decided back in June.

Sorry if I offended anyone.  I don’t apologize for the content though.  I had no idea about this troll cave thingy.  I post on phone and don’t see things clearly.  Been posting here since the move and we always talked this stuff in the threads in front page at least during HK fiasco we did.  Had no idea we had another sub board.

Anyways, I’m done with NBA for good.  I will always hold posters here close to my heart and its been the best and smartest fans on any NBA board ever.  I consider most here my friend.  But I can’t take sports mixing politics any longer and am going to do my part to not give them any views or clicks.  I may check in time to time to see how you guys are doing on a personal level but have no reason to come and talk sports since I will not know anything.  

Networks should have told teams and league “if you don’t play you have to pay for our losses”.  Lots of behind the scenes people losing money.  Sports sites.  Twitter personalities.  Shows.  Its something players don’t think about.

If players care so much why don’t they all have equal pay?  Why not divide up pay equally?

Anyways, wanted to clear and say I’m sorry for posting in this thread.  Anyone ever getting to OKC send me a PM and we can meet for laughs and drinks.  My treat.  I’m a 20 year Navy vet and we take care of friends so PM me.  But be warned, I won’t come here often since I am quitting BB so may not get to it right away.

But, here again we see the the problem, and it's really aggravating to myself and millions of other potential fans.  The Coaches Association has jumped to a conclusion, and presumes facts not in evidence.  We actually do not know that the Blake shooting was "baseless".  The coaches are just going along with the players, regardless of whether or not they have any facts to substantiate their claim.  Sorry if you don't think my post isn't about the boycott, but it is.

Well, I want to make it clear that I respect what the players, coaches, and staff have done in agreeing to commit to the bubble.  That is no small commitment to make, especially for the players who have families.  The level of play has been excellent in some cases, and the entertainment value has been fantastic, as was amply demonstrated in the Mavs' game 4 win.  I of course understand that they wanted the money, but I think there was some altruism in their decision as well.

I think people need to be specific about the type of change they want to see. Specific policy agendas. I hear alot about wanting to be heard or wanting justice, loosely defined, without a long term objective. 

In the 50s and 60s, civil rights protests had a specific purpose, a stated agenda, were sustained, and non violent (even when violence was directed at the protestors). It was an enormous struggle, but did lead to progress, including the civil rights legislation supported by MLK, passed by Congress, and signed by LBJ.

I agree that changes need to happen so black families aren't fearful of letting their children go out at night without a discussion on how to avoid getting pulled over by police or worse just because of their race. And I can understand frustration that leads to flash point riot situation in a particular city or town, but generalized riots and violence in response is not an answer, nor are vague boycotts that do not specify what the change agenda looks like. 

We can't have change until we define what change is.

Different groups with different interests and a lot things that need to be fixed. Where to start? Education? Police training? Gun control? Poverty? Just to name a few.
Call me a leftist but systemic issues can only be fixed if you actually change the system. Everything else is just a band aid to stop the bleeding.
