Game 63: Miami Heat (35-26) vs. Dallas Mavericks (34-28)

I guess ruining the starting five works if you don't plan to give them more than five minutes early in the 1st/3rd quarter. Exum/Kleber/Lively with good minutes off the bench.

If his body can take it, Exum needs really good bench minutes. He provides a little craziness this team desperately needs. Can his body handle it?

I still feel Lively, green and Exum should provide energy and positive plays. PJ too. It is weird how it just hasn’t the last two weeks

I think that is the main problem with Exum and Kleber. When they are healthy it makes a lot of sense to give them more minutes because they are clearly helping the team. But you cannot really do it because they are made out of glass.

Hell of a quarter. Can’t rest Luka, here. Have to close this out

Kyrie is so bad freelancing on defense

Horrific coaching. Cannot pull Luka to start the quarter

Pj just doesn’t shoot it good enough. If it doesn’t improve, it is not going to work here

Three guys in position to prevent easy transition points but all of them are ball watching.

That 10 pt lead evaporated.

All you have to do to beat the Mavericks is run. At some point in the game, if you keep running, they won’t.

Not sure what exactly changed. Kyrie used to be fine in the few minutes without Luka but recently it has been a disaster on offense. Cannot consistently create for himself or others. Even Exum is looking more dynamic.

Without Luka going supernova, this team has nothing.

Kyrie has been really disappointing lately. Pj cant shoot, Hardaway is a mess, Josh has disappeared, way too many breakdowns leading to wide open shots. Miami is going to wear them down here and Dallas will break. Will start complaining soon.

Kidd reverting back to the Luka/Kyrie 1 on 5 offense. No ball movement at all. Dribble, dribble, dribble - Lively or Gafford screen, if the defense doesn't give up the roll for the lob then it's a Luka or Kyrie ISO shot

Absolutely incredible defense by Derek lively to get out to the corner and contest without giving up the blow by and then discouraging the shot in the paint.

Might be speaking with emotion but Dante and Exum should be in most closing lineups. Not sure with number 5 yet.

Dante Exum is just better than Josh Green and Tim Hardaway in every way
