You could watch Duke all last year and I don’t think you saw more than 2-3 non dunk touch shots by Lively. To see him score on this shots in the nba is great. He still needs to improve with his shot but a really good sign.

Tough call. Looked like Simons had already taken off before Exum stepped up.

Love that first play of the game where he attacked 4 on 3 and finished the easy layup. If he can do that consistently the dude is going to be reeeeeealllllyyyyy good.

Yeah I'm pretty shocked how awful he's looked. Is it injuries? Or is he DSJ 2.0?

Lively needs to visit the Cowboys facility. Focus on tip drills and catching in traffic. How many times did he get his hands on the ball but couldn't secure the rebound.

The real question will now be...how great can Exum be?? The sky is the limit now, he has finally figured it out and can resemble the player he was expected to be coming out of the draft 10 years ago.

DJJ continues to impress. 1-7 from three but still dropped 14 and 8 and a +21! Reggie Bullock could never do that if he was shooting poorly and neither can Grant Williams/Josh Green.

Yeah it is an area he needs to work on.  Still impressive rebounds though.  But a game like tonight, he could have had almost 20 rebounds.  But a lot of games the 8 rebounds can become 13-14.  Especially with who the Mavs have at Pf.  It will take him some time but may be a lot sooner than we all thought.

Kidd just said to his knowledge, Kyrie never left the building.

Whoever made the decisions this summer deserve praise.

Lively- just what we needed
Omax- tbd
Exum- great signing
Jones jr- very good signing
Grant Williams- physical, strong leader. Can be ugly if he is struggling with his shot.
Thybulle- I can see why they targeted him

Makes me hopeful that these are the types of players they are focused on moving forward.

Kyrie Irving never left the arena in a wheelchair despite the Portland broadcast reporting that, per Jason Kidd

… the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks. Pretty reliable source.

THJ said kyrie was waiting for everyone a the locker room and he was in good spirits

Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine)
The Mavericks are spending the night in Portland before flying back to Dallas and Kyrie Irving, I'm told, is still at the arena.

Coach Jason Kidd said there is no further update yet on the right foot injury that sidelined Irving for the second half of tonight's road win.

Travel update: Dallas is flying directly to Memphis on Saturday for Monday's road date with the Grizzlies after staying tonight in Portland.

Kyrie Irving is expected to undergo an MRI exam after Dwight Powell landed hard on Irving's right leg.

And Dwight said, "Let Kyrie's leg be mangled." And it was so. Dwight called the injury "pain", and he checked his plus-minus. And Dwight saw that it was good.

Ya, for how many good players there were in this draft, to get the #2 and 3 pick so wrong! There’s still time for them to turn it around.

You mean that Miller is a bad pick? Or that they should have picked him? Besides it´s been 11 career games coming off an injury.

Maybe he ends up sucking, but if he does they still got that Camara kid at #52 and if he learns how to shoot, he´s like a lottery pick, cause his defense annoyed Luka very much. Last player I saw do that to Luka 1 on 1 was McDaniels (2-3 years ago?). I´d have traded for him on the spot.

This is like Knicks fans/media wanting to trade Randle after five play-off games playing on a bad ankle and the first five games after ankle surgery. How successful teams operate is to tune out the stupid public noise. Cause the bad teams cannot do that. That´s how you end up getting Markkanen, Randle and such for virtually nothing in free agency.
