Game 11: New Orleans Pelicans (5-6) vs. Dallas Mavericks (8-3) | 110-131 loss

Rick would have been ejected three times by now and Lively would get DNPs for the next 20 games for attempting a three.

Kind of saw this coming. Luka getting two nights in New Orleans is a dangerous combo. Can drink as late as you want.

He just got beat off the dribble by Jonas. LOL

Let him sit for the rest of the quarter.  Play Kyrie and see if they make a dent.  If not, sit them both for the 4th.

Luka is playing like Fat Harden. -18 is not even doing the level of shitness justice.

My brother in Christ the Mavs will likely end the 3rd with over 80 pts but the Pelicans already have 87.

Okay here is the good news. Team chemistry is good. It´s clear Luka wasn´t drinking alone last night. Whole team was out. Nobody on this team pays any attention to protecting the ball or defense. This ls literally the worst game the Mavs have played that I can remember.

So disappointed Kidd put Luka back in. He just doesn’t have it tonight. It happens.

The whole team is off. A few time out w might have been helpful. Probably not, but he didn’t do them any favors.

At least they upheld the law. Lively is the only player under 21 and the only one not playing like he´s drunk. Big Grin

Kyrie missing two FTs. Case closed. More reliable than a breathalyzer.

Are we out of the tournament after the loss tonight?

Stat-padding time for Luka...he will probably play most of the 4th quarter

Um why is Luka still in?

I have some newfound respect for Dennis Rodman to perform as he did being hungover and sleep-deprived. This team couldn´t beat me to a loose ball tonight and Rodman still grabs 25 rebounds on two hourse of sleep. Cool

These games happen. The lack of fight is concerning though. Just an awful performance all the way around.

It feels like Green has not defended Hawkins well. Can’t give him those looks. Would like to see Omax on him.

Big minutes for Holmes imo. He needs to show a heartbeat.

Zion may have been out with the team last night too

Damn. Mavs have utterly failed tonight in an in season playoff game against an inferior opponent. They need to whittle about 25 points off this lead in the next 8 minutes to give themselves a shot this season. Point differential will be too much. Not a professional performance in an important game. Disappointing. Team, in particularly Luka, didn’t prepare themselves like pros should.

Love how Omax plays perimeter defense. Once the game slows down for him or when he gets comfortable, he is going to be tough to keep out of the lineup imo. Even if his shot is in development, his energy and hustle can be a factor.

That 40 minute shitshow was almost worth it to see Holmes and Omax play well for the last eight.

Encouraging minutes from Omax. He was a nervous mess in preseason where lost / almost fumbled the ball on every possession. He looked like a legitimate Nba player tonight, good for him. Made a three, crashed the boards, good attack on a closeout, active on defense.

That game sucked in almost every way. I only say almost because Prosper actually hit a 3 in garbage time and Holmes got some burn to hopefully show that he deserves to be in the rotation. Kidd was terrible, shouldn't have left Luka in so long when you could clearly see early on that his lingering calf thing was flaring up. The offense was the sloppiest I've seen all year. The defense sucked, especially with Powell in. The court paint job sucked. The refs were against us too.

Almost certainly. 2 losses and by those point differentials won't be made up with only 8 teams advancing to the knockout stage. We only have the game against Houston left in our group. If we're not mathematically eliminated then our chances are probably south of one in a million. Just as well. If we advanced to the championship round that would have been an extra game that wouldn't have even counted towards our regular season record

Just like the losses to the Nuggets and Raptors, they got whooped against a team that played a big lineup with size/length and got dominated in points in the paint. The teams that have these skilled frontcourt forwards are going to give them problems all season.

Denver: Aaron Gordon, MPJ
Toronto: Siakam, OG
NO: Jones, Ingram
