Get Ross in fast and let's move on. Outside of Danny Green and maybe Justin Holiday, there are no defensive specialist SG/SF available out there. Whoever you're bringing in will just be part of the rotation to buy some rest for Green and Bullock.
There's rarely any bidding war (or bidding, either) or delay on buyout guys looking for a team. These players all get pro-rated rest-of-season minimum from whichever team they pick (not by rule, but that's the practice, since they have already been paid on the old contract; we don't see any of them get more hardly ever). So the decision-making is pretty quick.
It takes a few days to clear waivers, and by the time it's over they should know where they're headed and be ready to sign.
Then it takes a few days to get up to speed with their new team. Not likely to see Ross (or whoever else) in a Dallas uni for about a week.
