This seems like a compromise for both sides. And a good deal for both sides.

I just want him locked up so the Mavs can focus on building around Doncic/Wood for the next 3 seasons. 

I cant imagine how trading him midseason would be beneficial to us. I was full on team tank, but with injuries in the West and the winning streak, we can easily be a top 5 seed.
