Obvious sour grapes. All Pro sports have their scandals.

Cuban can complain all he wants...it doesn't matter. Refs are horrible in all sports right now; you can even make the argument that football has worse. The fact that there's a huge officiating problem in sports just makes it less likely that there will ever be any reform. The NFL, NBA, MLB, college, etc. can just look at each other and say "Well that's just the norm...our refs can't see everything and get everything right."

I like it. Stern has passed away. Most old refs are retired. It´s time Cuban builds a shitty relationship with the new people in charge, so they can stiff us in the play-offs, too.

20 year old Luka: I need to do a better job keeping my emotions in check/communicating with the refs.
60 year old Cuban: F*** these corrupt, blind a** sons of b*tches.

Mavs didn't lose the game because of refs. But it is a fact that NBA refs are terrible. Just look badly missed calls from yesterday, just from our side. I am sure Atlanta fans have a couple of their own:
- non flagrant on Brunson
- THJ clearly didn't step out of bounds
- goaltending call

I can agree that it has to be pointed out. Not sure if public scene is the best way to do it. But I guess they did try other stuff before...

This tells everything about the refs. Ref was looking directly at him. Something is very wrong here and it has to be fixed. Can't be good for the league. There is absolutely no way refs in Europe would "miss" something like that. No way!

Oh FIBA refs started to suddenly miss plenty of those, when TEAM USA threatened to not come back to the Olympics, because Carlos Arroyo and Vasilios Spanoulis mugged them.

It´s a tough enough job, when you can call it straight. It becomes impossible, when you have to consider all the ulterior business motives of the league/organisation you are working for.

Please mind, top European refs are not in FIBA competitions. Euroleague refs (league of top clubs in Europe), which are selected from top refs from national contests, are not allowed in FIBA competition (euro championship and world championship), because Euroleague is a private league. Stupid decision by a dinosaur organization. That's why the refs at world championship were terrible.

I didn't watch Euroleague past two seasons, but before that refs were excellent. Of course mistakes happen here and there. But not so blatant and common as in NBA.

I think if they try to fine him, then he needs to tell them that his comments were inadvertent, therefore they don't count and he doesn't have to pay the fine.

Look at this! Mavs were actually right, yet the appeal was denied and Cuban fined. "Well done"! I am against stuff like repeating the game, but acknowledging mistakes would be nice. Cuban behavior was not correct, but so is not the league. Refs should be held accountable.

"A review by the NBA showed that Collins' tip came 1/15th of a second after the whistle began, so the shot should not have counted. The NBA said officials followed proper protocol in the moment and therefore would not grant the Mavericks' protest."

Let me get this straight.

The NBA refs followed proper protocol, but the league admits that the current protocol is not designed to prevent an objectively incorrect call from materially changing the result of the game?  Wow.

If anything, that just proves Cuban's point that the refs are bad and the league doesn't care. So of course they fine him for pointing it out.
