That was after he agreed to a 4/$85 deal with Indiana.  Indiana made that trade because they didn't want to risk Milwaukee matching.

I wanted to offer a 4/$95 offer sheet to Brogdon.  He would've signed that higher deal with us.  Worst case, we wait and Mil matches.  We still could've signed Curry and Wright.

We will never know, but who's to say Indiana doesn't pony up the extra 2.5 mil per year if the Mavs made that offer?

I would have liked to see the Mavs try. I don't think they believe Brogdon is a giant upgrade over Wright and they may have a point. I am happy with our signings so far. Mavs have of nice pieces around Luka, KP that uncle Ricky can play with. At some point Mavs might make one big move to get someone that can put this thing over the top. Adams is one guy, there are probably others. They may not need to do a deal this year. I am excited to see some more Rick experiments. I'd love to see Powell back in the starting lineup with Curry joining him.
