The best hugger in the game and the best lockerroom presence ever in the history of ever! THJ/Powell for Turner and whatever else they want to throw in to make salaries work.

I think Turner might be one of the guys you can play to make KP a permanent PF (not just regular season PF). The rim protection between KP and Turner would also be incredible.

LeVert has a really bad season and is injured a lot, but he might be that secondary creator next to Luka. A big gamble though. I wonder what his price might be. Would you give it a shot for a FRP?

I would think Warren and Lamb are available too. and their price shouldn't be high.

Don't know about Pritchard (PBO and GM)  but RC probably is not going to do Dallas any favors in regards to any deal.....

All he needs to do is tell Pritchard how AMAZING he can make THJ and Powell look!

The problem is, what Indy really needs. They have plenty of solid players. PF might be their weakest position with Warren injured all the time. So Maxi fits nicely with them, especially if Turner would be the one going out. Nothing else on Mavs roster does. The other thing they need is young talent with high ceiling. Nothing Mavs have. DFS could also fit there.

Would you do Maxi and DFS (and whatever else salary needed) for Turner? I think it would increase Mavs ceiling.

I would not.

We trade our only 2 consistent role players for Turner? I suppose that kind of allows a future KP deal, but I don't see the tremendous upside in a Turner+KP pairing if it costs DFS/Kleber.

I'd rather aim a little lower to replace Powell/WCS in the starting lineup. I think guys like Nurkic/Richaun Holmes/Theis etc. can provide 80% of the upside with a much lower cost to trade.

Absolutely.

Turner is a local Dallas guy, still only 25, a terrific defender, and a Duffy client (I believe). Looking at how Kidd is playing with Powell/WCS in the starting lineup, I've gotta think Turner would be absolutely ideal in that role. He's right up there near the top of my list for attainable trade targets.

Make it happen.

In my opinion: Nurkic cost is a FRP for sure unless you provide an adequate player (my Favors prayer). Holmes is almost a star on a long term deal. Sacramento asking price would be huge. Houston just signed Theiss, so not sure why they would be giving him away. I think his price is a FRP too.

I would love to keep Maxi/DFS, but I don't think there is any chance Indy would fall for THJ or Powell, unless their only interest are picks only. THJ is playing badly and Powell doesn't fit with Sabonis at all. I would be extremely surprised if Mavs even trade THJ. DFS is cheap and great, but will remain so for half a season only. After that he is MLE level player. Are we sure Mavs will actually resign DFS and Brunson, putting them some 20 mil in tax? I think DFS/Brunson is by far the biggest puzzle Mavs need to solve, unless Cuban is prepared to pay huge tax for a very average team. If a team is willing to provide similar talent, I could see Mavs pull the trigger.

If KP is here to stay, Turner is one of best players to put next to him. Basically Maxi on steroids. Also much younger. I think Mavs would need to replace DFS with Powell/Green/picks combination. Even Brunson perhaps. Worry about bench later/next season. Perhaps RoCo?

Luka, Bullock, RoCo, Turner, KP could be a very good unit on both sides.

"Among several top-level GM candidates who fit the profile of Portland's applicant pool, there's no enthusiasm to grant Lillard his massive extension contract through the 2026-27 season. In fact, several executives told ESPN they would be far more interested in the Blazers job with ownership's blessing to move Lillard sooner than later."

"Lillard intends to give the Trail Blazers organization time to find its next leader of basketball operations. But beyond the front office component, the face of the franchise still wants significant changes to the roster. Multiple sources have told The Athletic that Lillard would like to play with Philadelphia 76ers three-time All-Star Ben Simmons. The Trail Blazers’ league-worst defense would instantly improve, and sharing a backcourt with a non-shooter could work given Lillard's high-volume usage."

After looking at what his age will be, the extension he's going to want and the fact that he's playing badly and injured now....I'm not as gung ho as I was before I looked at those things.

If you don't offer him the max extension next year, then it's going to be weird and that would give him two years of 50+ million per year at 35-36 and he's not super healthy right now....

But it's Damian Lillard...

"If Lillard asks out, they know the Blazers will lose some leverage in the asking price—and are waiting on it. Philadelphia made an offer, but New York never did, league sources said. Lillard's reps offered mixed messages on the star's intentions to stay or go, and rival teams say that the star's camp had real concerns about [former general manager Neil] Olshey's willingness to recommend the extension to ownership in 2022."

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Tuesday that at least three teams won't reach out to the Blazers about a trade until the six-time All-Star makes a formal demand:

Totally agree with Frank I here, and we had this convo the other day.  They are not good fits with KP.

I think I'd take Turner over KP, however.

Starting to feel like a lot of names from Potland, Dallas and Indiana may get thrown around in some giant trade that also moves Simmons...
